Thank You everyone for the fantastic event today! We had a pretty good turn out... about 200-300 people came through the event... and many of them left with big smiles on their faces... many animal lovers who fed the alpacas, got to touch Sadie (our resident PR alpaca who loves to sit down and let people just touch and examine her!)... and many folks telling about the purchases they made with the vendors! IT was a perfect day! Thank you to the vendors for participating... and to my husband who works hard to help me get the farms et up for visitors and then cleans up at the end so the farm is a SAFE place for the alpacas before heading home. Tomorrow... we do an event in Vally view at Jog for Dogs! https://www.jogfordogs.com/ come on out and see me there! Lots of alpaca products and of course my home grown line of CBD products called Holistic Harvest Farms.

The Jog for Dogs is on Sunday September 15, 2024. It includes the following events: 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Walk, and Virtual 5K/1Mile Walk.

Local honey producers! and many other vendors! Please share to your friends... it is a fun day! Parking is a mad house, but we deal with it! Just be patient.... and kind.... people come and go at a rapid pace... so plan ahead...

To my alpaca friends....one of my favorite dams (Splenda) just had her cria this morning.... I need support and any thoughts (although I have taken care of hundreds of new born crias in 24 years, this one is touchy!). THis dam did not want anything to do with her first cria born last year, and he did not make it. So... today, I thought I will just back off and leave her alone with the cria and the herd she lives with for a couple hours...... because she is VERY nervous and sensitive! I don't even know if it is a male of female at this point... but it is true black like her. It is early... she was bred on 10-10-23. Cria is cushed and drying when I saw it about an hour ago, no plenta yet. I am wondering how long to wait to see if they have bonded? I will allow her to take the cria out to the pasture as it is an absolutely glorious day here in NE Ohio. I don't want to interfere with her instincts... but I also do not want to struggle with a bottle baby or a angry dam!

Looks what's coming up! Craft Fair on the Alpaca Farm

If you missed the first one, you MUST come to this one! We have SO MUCH FUN selling our soaps and products at Vintage Alpacas All the vendors are out in the field with the alpacas, and so are you! Come pet them, feed them and support several local small businesses. They have over 70 alpacas on the farm they are curious, friendly and fluffy! I will also have a few alpaca felted soaps on hand for sale. If you are interested in one, I will set aside for you, they sell quickly!
