🚨 A Small Antifreeze Spill Can Become a Life-Threatening Emergency for Cats 🚨🐱

Many cats are exposed to antifreeze simply by walking through a small spill in a garage or driveway and later grooming their paws. Unfortunately, even tiny amounts can cause severe kidney damage within hours.

Signs to watch for may include:
🐾 Vomiting or drooling
🐾 Weakness or lethargy
🐾 Trouble walking or loss of coordination
🐾 Increased thirst or changes in urination

At Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers in Brandon, our emergency and specialty teams are equipped to provide advanced diagnostics, hospitalization, and intensive monitoring for pets facing toxic exposures and other emergencies.

If you suspect antifreeze exposure, immediate veterinary care is critical.

Most stings are mild—but reactions can be unpredictable. In some cases, dogs can have allergic reactions that need urgent care.

🚨 Is your cat struggling in the litter box? Don’t ignore the signs. 🐾

Constipation in cats can escalate quickly—especially if they go days without relief.

⚠️ Signs your cat may need urgent care:
• Straining without producing stool
• No bowel movement for 48+ hours
• Vomiting or loss of appetite
• Lethargy or hiding
• Abdominal discomfort
• Small, dry, or bloody stool

Causes can range from dehydration and hairballs to more serious underlying conditions—and if left untreated, it can lead to complications like megacolon.

If your cat seems uncomfortable or hasn’t gone in a couple days, don’t wait - early care can make all the difference. 💙🐱
