The Canny Canine was created on the simple premise that pet owners who actively engage with their dogs have a better relationship and often a happier, more well-behaved dog. Our goal is to provide a fun, supportive, laid back training environment where folks from all over the Gallatin Valley can take classes and learn how to have success in training their dog from obedience classes to dog sports.

Super proud of this dude and his owner! His owner is putting in the time and trusting the process. Yesterday we went for a walk and gave Woody the choice to make good decisions around some extremely obnoxious dogs…and he did! Every time! Looking forward to continuing our good work together. Huge congratulations to the super teams competing yesterday in Livingston!!
⭐️Team Robbie earned their NW3 Exterior title and placed 1st in the Exterior search.
⭐️Team Bridger placed 3rd in the Container searches.
⭐️Team Hank placed 2nd in the Vehicle search at their very first NW3 trial!!

A week after judging some super shed hunt trials, I had the privilege of COing two days of NACSW Elite Select Trials in Vancouver at the Washington State School for the Blind. What an absolutely amazing campus! For a hot minute I got to check out the Tactile Safari room (that lion just needed a hug). Huge thanks to Terri Spaeth-Merrick and the always welcoming PNW crew. So awesome to catch up with so many of you!! Super weekend - just wish that wind hadn’t been so swirly on Sunday. 😉

Well it’s been a very busy couple of weeks. I had the pleasure of judging my first UKC Elite Shed Dog trials in Florence MT April 24th thru 26th. What a blast to get to watch so many happy dogs and teams!! The Bitterroot Valley Shed Dog Club were super hosts. Many thanks to Erica Amt and Sydnee Thomason for all of their seriously hard work to make this first event amazing!! I met lots of really super people from around the northwest. Highly recommend this wonderful club and their awesome events!!!
