Big News! After three amazing years out at my Four Corners location, Black Diamond K9 is moving to a bigger facility in Belgrade. With this move comes many changes, and I am happy to share that with you all! Please check out all of the services we are adding, expanding, and removing:

Added Services:
- Boarding
- Daycare
Expanding Services:
- Board & Train
- Back-To-Pack
- Group Classes
Removed Services:
- Private Lessons
- Day Training

Our new location is at 465 Brair Place in Belgrade, MT. BDK9 is moving into the same facility that Summit used to occupy. We will be taking over Summit’s Instagram this weekend, so expect to see some cross-posting as these accounts begin to merge.

If you are a Black Diamond K9 client who wants to board their dog with us or have their dog attend daycare, please look for a separate post in the near future detailing how to book reservations for all of our services. We wil be using new software that you can access online to request reservations. If you attend Back-To-Pack or Pack Walks, this same software can be used for those services as well.

I am overhauling my website to reflect all of these changes, I will make a post when these changes have been made.

Thank you for the many years of support, and we can’t wait to share this new chapter with you and get to spend more quality time with your dogs!

Nixie update: I have her walking much more loosely on the lead, and being able to move around the room with the other dogs. I have learned that Nixie really just needs to build confidence on a lead around other dogs, I have become less worried about her potentially doing damage to the other dogs. If that wasn’t the case, she would be muzzled as it’s my responsibility to keep her and any other dog, she is exposed to safe. Being able to read the dog and adjust course on the training allows me to spend more time working on what needs to be done. I still will muzzle condition her just so her owners have that tool in their back pocket in case circumstances change.

Little update on Remy and his training journey, giving my thoughts on how we are using food as a reward non-verbally

Mid-week Puca & Lucy update:
Puca displaying great impulse control and poise after experiencing blasting wind, a low helicopter fly-over, and watching sandhill cranes play in the wind. These birds are so majestic to watch and a Puca did great enjoying the show with me.
Lucy working her recall off of our local UPS driver as he was in the back of his truck moving packages around (can’t hear him too well in the video). She’s progressing excellently especially around one of her hardest distractions - people. Although she didn’t see him, she knew he was there.

You’d never know this used to be impossible for Axel🩷

Axel is a 5 year old Border Collie who has been working with us for the past year due to reactivity and to rebalance his social skills. His issues started when he was attacked by another dog is his own backyard. He became fearful of other dogs and resorted to attacking other dogs on sight. He has completed training with us and in this video you can see his progression - he is making safe and healthy choices to disengage from dogs when he feels uncomfortable or when he feels triggered to become defensive. Through muzzle conditioning, Back-To-Pack, and e-collar training, he was able to be off-leash and peaceful because of the structure and predictability that we provided for him. We are so proud of Axel🩷
