Handsome Koda is officially the newest graduate! 🎓
It’s been amazing to watch Koda’s confidence blossom from his days in puppy class to the incredible progress he’s made during his board & train. He was an absolute joy to work with & we’re definitely going to miss him. I’m so excited for his family to experience the benefits of his training. He’s still the same lovable pup, just now with equipped with a well rounded skill set & clear understanding of what’s expected from him. 🩷

Three adorable + well trained Beagle sisters! 🐾

Bourbon, Kahlua, and Rummi have all graduated from puppy class and successfully completed off leash training. It’s always such a joy to see owners invest in early training! It sets a strong foundation for a lifetime of good behavior. We’re going to miss these sweet pups but we’re so excited that Kahlua is now up to speed with her big sisters🩷

I attended the first fearful & feral dog immersive program in the United States which was hosted by Kelly Engel () & Julie Hart (). I learned how dogs who have lived without humans deem one safe, trustworthy, & valuable to their survival (& by the way it is not by bribing them with food).

I spent last week handling Reba who is a feral dog from New Mexico. I am so thankful for Reba for being a patient teacher, being willing to try, & showing me what’s possible. The first two days I was questioning myself & to be completely honest feeling a little discouraged. That changed on the third day when I was crying happy tears because Reba showed me she trusted me & opened up to me.

I want to thank Kelly & Julie for their valuable knowledge & for making this opportunity possible. Thank you to Trish () who handled Flapjack, Kris () who handled Midnight, & Megan () who handled Lulu. Everyone’s experiences with the dogs they were handling & their perspectives were valuable. A safe space was cultivated not only for us to learn about the dogs but also for the dogs to learn to trust & that was powerful.

Happy 2nd birthday to Mac🎉 This pup is so dang sweet, always down for an adventure, & knows how to have fun! So glad he is part of the SoulMutt pack & I got to celebrate him on his special day🩷

Congratulations to the newest graduate, Teddy the 8 month old Bernese Mountain Dog🎓 This sweet boy spent last week training with Joe & I to make sure he understood recall with the e-collar then we spent this week getting out on adventures to proof his recall with distractions. He had the best time being off leash but learned that he needed to come every time he was called even if he was in the middle of a game of chase or sniffing something interesting. Now he’ll be able to enjoy the off leash life with his owners just in time for spring😊🐾
