Some dogs spend so much energy scanning, assessing, and trying to cope with the world around them that even small moments of relaxation feel significant.

That shift matters.

Not because everything is suddenly “fixed,” but because feeling safe enough to soften is part of the process.

Walks are not just about exercise.

For many dogs, sniffing, exploring, observing, and moving at their own pace are important forms of enrichment too.

Sometimes slowing down gives dogs more opportunity to engage with the world around them.

Stress in pets is not always obvious.

Sometimes it looks like avoidance, freezing, pulling away, hyper-vigilance, difficulty settling, or simply trying to create distance.

When we recognize the things pets may find stressful, we can respond with more patience, predictability, and support.

Behavior is communication, and small signals matter.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Behavioral health is an essential part of overall wellbeing, for both people and pets.

Understanding behavior allows us to better support how animals feel, function, and navigate their environment.

A big part of veterinary medicine isn’t just clinical care. It’s communication.

Our Client Experience Team is often the first and last point of contact for our clients, and they handle complex, emotional situations every day with so much patience and care.

We are really grateful for everything they bring to this team.

Thank you, Dawn and Jessica.

Not all enrichment looks the same.

For some dogs, it’s slowing down with a snuffle mat.
For others, it’s working through a puzzle or building confidence through structured scent work.

The goal isn’t just to “tire them out”, it’s to give them appropriate, meaningful ways to engage with their environment.

Different dogs need different outlets.

Which one fits your dog best?
