🌿 Nature is beautiful… but it doesn’t always have your pet’s best interests in mind 😅🐾

We love a good Boulder adventure just as much as you do—but sometimes the things that look the most harmless (we’re looking at you, random plants and “mystery snacks” on the trail 👀) can cause some not-so-fun vet visits.

If your pet tends to lead with their nose, mouth, or “what’s this?!” energy, you’re not alone!

A few real-life things we see more often than you’d think:
• Dogs sampling plants like they’re at a salad bar
• Curious pups investigating toads (it never ends well)
• “Just a quick sniff” turning into a sneezing fit or irritated paw
• Post-hike tummy troubles from something unknown

When in doubt, keep it simple:
Stay nearby, keep an eye on what they’re getting into, and trust your gut if something feels off. And if your pet does get into something questionable… we’re always here to help (and we promise, we’ve seen it all) 🤍

🌄 New to Boulder? Your pet might need a minute, too. 🐾

While you’re out here thriving on mountain views and oat milk lattes… your pet is like:
“Why is the air ✨different✨ and where is my breath?”

At 5,000+ feet, even healthy pets can feel the change—especially if they’re visiting or newly moved here.

A few ways to help them adjust (and avoid the drama):
💧 Hydration is key—more water than you think
🐾 Take it easy on hikes (day 1 ≠ summit day)
🌬️ Watch for coughing, fatigue, or “I’m not okay” vibes
🪨 Hot rocks + rough trails = tender paws

Most pets adjust just fine with a little time—but if something feels off, trust your gut. You know your pet best!
We’re always here to help your four-legged adventure buddy feel their best—whether they’re a Boulder local or just passing through 🤍

If you’re hearing a little “click click click” on your floors, your pet might be telling you it’s time for a nail trim 🐾💙

Regular nail trims aren’t just about looks—they’re an important part of your pet’s comfort and health. Keeping nails short helps support proper movement, reduces strain on joints, and prevents painful issues like splitting, breaking, or ingrown nails.

✨ A quick trim can make a big difference in how your pet walks, plays, and feels every day.

We know nail trims aren’t every pet’s favorite activity—and that’s okay! If your pet gets nervous or stressed, give us a call. We’re happy to talk through options and techniques to help make the experience as calm and comfortable as possible for both of you.

Not sure if your pet is due? We’re always here to help guide you.

📞 Call us at 720-487-9570 to schedule or ask questions—because every pet deserves a relaxing mani-pedi! 💅

🐾 Breed Spotlight of the Week: Bengal Cats 🐆

Spotted coats, striking eyes, and BIG personalities—Bengal cats are truly one of a kind! But behind their wild look is a highly intelligent, energetic companion that thrives with the right environment.

✨ Did you know?
Bengals are one of the most active domestic cat breeds. They love to climb, play, and explore—so enrichment is key to keeping them happy and healthy.

💡 What Bengal owners should know:
• They need daily mental & physical stimulation (think puzzle toys, climbing trees, interactive play)
• They’re often more vocal and social than other cats
• Without enough enrichment, they may develop behavior concerns like inappropriate scratching or boredom-related mischief
• They may not always be your typical “lap cat”—but they bond closely with their people in their own unique way

🐱 Our veterinary tip:
Keeping your Bengal active isn’t just fun—it supports their overall health, weight management, and emotional well-being.

Thinking about adding a Bengal to your family or already have one at home? We’re happy to help you create a plan that keeps them thriving 💙

🐾 Meet This Week's Breed Spotlight: the French Bulldog! 🐾

Small body… BIG personality 😄💙
French Bulldogs have quickly become one of the most popular breeds—and it’s easy to see why. They’re affectionate, playful, and love being right by your side (or in your lap… always in your lap).

But behind those adorable faces are some unique health considerations every Frenchie owner should know:

Because of their short noses, French Bulldogs are prone to breathing difficulties, especially in warmer weather or during exercise. Even mild spring temperatures can be a bit much for them, so it’s important to keep activity low and watch for signs like heavy panting or fatigue.

They can also be prone to:
🐾 Skin fold irritation
🐾 Allergies
🐾 Ear infections

Regular check-ins, proper skincare, and keeping them cool and comfortable go a long way in keeping Frenchies happy and healthy!

If you have a French Bulldog (or are thinking about adding one to your family), our team is here to help you navigate their care every step of the way 💙

Because every Frenchie deserves to breathe easy and live comfortably 🐾

If it feels like your pet is personally redecorating your home with fur… you’re not imagining things 😅🐾

Spring shedding is in full swing! As the weather warms up and days get longer, pets naturally start to lose their thick winter coats. Totally normal—but it can get overwhelming fast (hello, fur tumbleweeds). Regular grooming can make a huge difference—not just for your home, but for your pet’s health too!

Brushing helps remove loose fur, prevent painful matting, and gives you a chance to check your pet’s skin for anything unusual. Plus, it keeps their coat healthy and comfortable as the seasons change.

A quick tip: the right brush matters! Different coat types need different tools, so if you’re not sure what to use, we’re happy to guide you.

And if you’re noticing excessive shedding, bald patches, or irritated skin—that’s your sign to check in with us!

Because shedding is normal… but living in a fur storm doesn’t have to be 😉
