New World Screwworm has recently been detected in Texas and New Mexico, making awareness and early detection more important than ever.

🐾 Protect your pets by:
✔ Staying current on flea, tick, and parasite prevention!
✔ Checking daily for wounds, cuts, or skin lesions
✔ Keeping wounds clean and properly cared for
✔ Monitoring pets that travel to or from Latin America closely

New World Screwworm larvae can invade open wounds and feed on living tissue, causing serious illness. Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and other mammals can be affected.

If you notice a wound that seems unusual, is worsening quickly, or contains visible larvae, contact your veterinarian immediately.
