“Before there’s another litter needing rescue, there’s a chance to prevent the suffering.” 🐾❤️

We all see the emergency posts. Puppies with nowhere safe to go. Kittens born outside. Rescues and fosters trying to make room when they’re already full.

Spay/neuter gives us a chance to change what happens next.

Fewer unwanted litters means fewer animals facing hunger, exposure, illness, and a desperate search for safety. It means less pressure on shelters, rescues, and the people who keep saying, “I’ll find a way.”

The large spay/neuter clinic can’t come to the Uintah Basin this fall. But the need hasn’t gone away, and waiting means more litters.

Brook Cox Watts is continuing to trap, coordinate appointments, and transport dogs and cats to surgery. She donates that work and covers those supporting costs herself.

We’re asking you to help pay for the surgeries.

❤️ Our “Spay It Forward” goal is $7,000 by November 22.
🐾 Every dollar donated to this campaign goes toward spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats in the Roosevelt–Vernal area and nearby tribal communities, including community cats helped through TNR.

As we wrap up our first week, thank you to everyone who has donated or shared. Please help us keep this moving.

We may never meet the animals whose suffering we prevent. We won’t see their emergency posts or scramble to find them a foster. But helping prevent that suffering matters just as much.

🍂🐾 WEEK 4: COLD WEATHER & WILDLIFE SAFETY! ❄️🦊

Sweater weather is here… and your pets didn't get the memo! 😂🐶🐱

It's our final week of SNARF's Pet Safety & Prevention Month! As temperatures drop and daylight disappears faster than treats at our house, it's time to prepare our furry friends for fall and winter!

🐾 A FEW TIPS TO KEEP THOSE PAWS SAFE:

🔦 Light Up the Night! Shorter days mean more walks in the dark. Use reflective collars, leashes, and lights to stay visible!

🥶 Brrr… It's Cold! Bring pets indoors when temperatures drop. Puppies, seniors, small breeds, and short-haired pets may need extra protection.

🐱 Check Before You Start! Outdoor cats sometimes seek warmth under vehicles or inside engine compartments. Check around your vehicle, tap the hood, and give any hiding critters a chance to escape before starting your engine.

🦝 Wildlife Is on the Move! Keep dogs leashed, supervise outdoor time, and avoid encounters with skunks, raccoons, coyotes, and other wildlife. Nobody wants a midnight skunk bath! 🦨😂

🏡 Winterize for Your Pets! Provide warm, dry shelter, fresh unfrozen water, and a cozy place to sleep. Check paws after walks for ice and deicing chemicals.

❤️ SNARF SAFETY TIP: If you care for outdoor or community cats, provide an insulated, weatherproof shelter with straw instead of blankets. Straw helps keep them warm and dry!
