Ike has begun a very light training regiment that we use to keep all our seniors movin and groovin! Even sanctuary horses need to be exercised to keep them looking and feeling their best! Along with quality nutrition, supplements tailored to each horse, and some exercise we keep them feeling great for as long as we can! This day was an introduction to it and to check his movement now that the weather is getting colder. Even though he has a funky gait (we will touch on this another day), he moves out great! We look forward to working more with him and getting some more slobbery love from this sweet old man. 💜🥹

Ike sure has made himself right at home within the herd! Getting plenty of love and cookies! 🍪 Even if that means sneaking some cookies. 🫣

This sweet sanctuary senior man is living life to the fullest and loving every minute of it!

We’re sure he won’t be excited about deworming, but the cookies will get the taste out of his mouth pretty quickly.

As the weather is changing and getting colder, we’re making sure he’s getting plenty of Redmond Equine crushed daily red salt! Making sure horses are getting enough minerals and hydration as the weather changes, is key to helping prevent colic. And, at Ike’s age, that’s super important for him to live out his golden years happy and healthy!

I know we’ve been away forever, but, we would like to introduce you to our new sanctuary herd member, Ike!

Ike is a big senior gelding that needed a soft place to land. Thanks to our friends at Horse & Halo they knew a good spot! 😉

We are so happy to be able to give this big handsome man a new chapter for his golden years and a soft placement.

He will spend his days in a small herd grazing on pasture and being spoiled with cookies!

We’re very happy to welcome him and we can’t wait to get to know him more. 💜

We are going to help with what we can. We ask if you’re looking for your next project horse or are willing to foster, to please help these horses in need. Even a share will help us get these horses the help and homes they need. Please reach out to Horse and Horse & Halo through the original post!

It’s sad to think this is our first post we’ve made in a while. But, we wanted to shed some light on this reality for many horses. Especially Reservation horses.

Reservation horses are not federally regulated, which leaves the reservations to try their best at regulating the horses. They’ll host sales and the horses go wherever from that point on. This is a beautiful Appaloosa mare from the reservation sale who is now in a 💀 lot. About a month after the sale and this is where she now is.

This is her reality. And we are shining light on it.

Once we are able to get funding we are hoping to help more horses like her.

The inspiration and role model that got us through the uncertain waters when we found out Aries was losing his sight to the same disease. Endo helped us get through a lot of difficult moments in Aries training. Morgan offered amazing advice.

Endo will be sorely missed and we send our best wishes and condolences to his owner, Morgan, and her family. ❤️‍🩹
