Victory in first Battle for Veterinary Telehealth in Ohio.
On June 4th, 2025, The Ohio Senate passed OH SB 60 (Veterinary Telehealth Bill - sponsored by Senators Wilkin and Huffman with a number of Co-sponsors) unanimously 33-0. Now it goes on to the Ohio House. UPF lobbied for the passage of this bill with a number of other organizations and folk, including the Veterinary Virtual Care Association, ASPCA, Dean Rustin Moore of the The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and many more. This morning I sent a shortened letter to the editor of The Cincinnati Enquirer encouraging that they cover this issue. The newspapers in Lima and Dayton have already written articles about it. The Enquirer limits you to 100 words in your letter to the Editor (although they will allow a few more words in their Forum or Op-Ed sections. ). If you would like to submit something by email, send it to [email protected] and include your name, address (include community), and daytime phone number. You can also submit a written letter by Snail Mail to Letter, Enquirer Editorial Page, 312 Plum Street, Suite 1250, Cincinnati, OH 45202. If we all work together, we can help this important issue pass and add another tool in the toolbox for animal health care.

🌪️ United Pet Fund Delivers Hope and Help to London, KY! 🌪️

Yesterday, United Pet Fund (UPF) delivered over 5 TONS of vital resources—both animal and human supplies—to support the relief efforts in London, Kentucky. On May 16th, 2025, London and nearby Somerset were devastated by an EF-4 tornado, leaving hundreds of homes and businesses damaged or destroyed, and tragically taking the lives of 19 people in London alone.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of UPF volunteers and our reliable truck, Big Mack, these much-needed supplies are now reaching those affected by this tragedy.

Our dedicated volunteers, Steve and Suzy E., joined the relief mission, generously distributing thousands of dollars in gift cards donated by caring neighbors, friends, and acquaintances from the Middletown, OH community, directly aiding those impacted.

Touring the affected areas, we were deeply moved by the remarkable resilience and strength displayed by the residents of London and Somerset. Equally heartwarming was witnessing the generosity of people throughout the Midwest who have come together in solidarity and support.

We stand committed to assisting communities during challenging times, ensuring that both people and animals receive the support they need to rebuild and recover.

United Pet Fund is responding to the tornado disaster in SE KY (Somerset and London) by sending resources to the area. This past week, Trish S. and Ashley D. (Adoption First Animal Rescue KY) took UPF-based resources down to the area. We will be assessing the needs and taking our need truck, Big Mack, down to the disaster area this coming Friday with both human and animal resources to help.

As United Pet Fund celebrates 15 years on May 5th, 2025, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey we’ve taken together. What started as a vision to support those who help animals in need has grown into a powerful network of shelters, rescues, and advocates across the Midwest. None of this would have been possible without the selfless efforts of our many volunteers and the generous support of our donors.

A heartfelt thank you to every person who has given their time, resources, and heart to this mission—and especially to Doug Graham, our super-volunteer who’s been by our side since day one. Doug’s commitment, spirit, and steady presence have helped shape UPF into what it is today.
