HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY, CHEWIE!!!
Help us celebrate our Gross Schnauzer Papa, Chewbacca! He is such a smart, strong, and sensitive little man!
We thought we’d use his birthday to show some incredible traits in schnauzers!
1. THEY ARE SMART
Did you know he’s a seizure alert service dog?! Jeanie has epilepsy and Chewie is trained to detect when she has a seizure coming. Because of Chewie’s alerts, Jeanie is able to stay safe and avoid injuries from convulsive seizures.
2. THEY ARE EMPATHETIC
Two years ago, while at a random yard sale, Chewie and Jeanie were attacked by several labradors. Chewie was bleeding and injured but he was much more concerned about Jeanie’s small bite than his own injuries. (No worries, both Chewie and Jeanie are fine now 💕)
3. THEY ARE HYPOALLERGENIC AND DON’T SHED
If you couldn’t tell from this picture, Chewie could easily use a haircut! 🤣 Thankfully, the schnauzer breeds don’t shed so we don’t have to worry about sweeping hair off the floor constantly. Many people who are normally allergic to dogs have no problems around schnauzers.
We love our furbabies. We celebrate their birthdays big in this house because we know every year with them is such a blessing.
