We take in owner surrenders right here in CT, and also work closely with established partner shelters Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Louisiana to save the lives of loving and loyal dogs who have lost their way and find themselves on death row. Our team of wonderful volunteers get these adoptable dogs the medical and emotional care they need so they can transition into a loving forever home. To date we’ve placed over 8,000 dogs with new, forever families and we are so proud of the difference we are making in the world.

🍰 DOG OF THE MONTH: BUTTERCREAM

Poor Buttercream keeps getting overlooked at adoption events because she arrives with the enthusiasm of someone who just won the lottery, found $100 in her jeans AND heard the ice cream truck.

And then there’s the face. The infamous RBF (Resting Buttercream Face). She looks like she’s about to ask for the manager, but we promise she’s actually a total sweetheart.

Here’s the deal:
🐾 Not a couch potato? GOOD. She’s got places to go and squirrels to investigate.
🐾 Need a workout buddy? She’s your girl.
🐾 Have a playful dog? Even better! She loves canine friends.
🐾 Want a sidekick who can entertain herself AND keep you laughing? NAILED IT.

If you love a little lapdog, this adorable little girl is young and will check the boxes. She will require a minor eye surgery and will also need to be spayed upon adoption. Direct any questions or adoption inquiries to them.

We love to start off the week with good news! Help us welcome home our newest Dog Star Alumni!

This week we got to see Kirby finally go home to a wonderful family after waiting and being cared for so loving by many volunteers. And our senior bonded pair, Charley & Marley, found a wonderful new mom and dad who adore senior dogs! We are so thankful to our supporters, partners and volunteers!

We are SO grateful for the incredible donations we have received so far to help our sweet Fred - we are over half way there!
