May is national Chip Your Pet Month, and in honor we wanted to share a happy reunion story from right here at East Market Vet Center ❤️

Yesterday, a sweet dog named Waylon was brought to us after getting out from home. Thankfully, Waylon had a microchip, which allowed us to quickly contact his family and help get him safely reunited with his owners. 🐾

Microchips are such a simple thing, but they can make all the difference when a pet goes missing. Pets with microchips are much more likely to make it back home safely especially when the contact information linked to the chip is kept up to date!

If you’re not sure whether your pet has a microchip, or you’d just like us to check it for you, feel free to stop by anytime. We’re happy to scan your pet at no expense. 😊

We don’t love having to post things like this—but we do want to be transparent with our community.

Today, on an already shortened day due to the scheduled power outage, we had multiple same-day appointment cancellations. When this happens—especially several times in one day—it puts us in a very difficult position, as it directly impacts our ability to cover staff wages and keep the hospital running smoothly.

We absolutely understand that life happens. However, many of today’s cancellations were due to conflicts with regular work schedules. We kindly ask that if you schedule an appointment, you’re confident you can attend—or that you give us as much advance notice as possible if something changes.

Same-day appointments are often in high demand, and last-minute cancellations prevent us from offering that time to another pet who may need care.

We truly appreciate your understanding and support of our small business and our team 💙

We had such a great time at IUPets, put on by the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Student Government Association! 🐾

Churro and Cooper had a blast meeting new people and making some furry friends along the way.

A big thank you to our friends from the IUP Pre-Vet Club for inviting us—we always love being part of events like this in our amazing pet-loving community! 💙

🐾 Friendly Reminder from Your EMVC Team! 🐾

We love seeing all of our furry visitors—but accidents can happen! If your pup has an accident in our hallway, please help us keep things clean and safe by either cleaning it up or letting a team member know so we can take care of it right away. 💛

Also, with the nicer weather rolling in 🌷☀️, we kindly ask that when weather permits, all clients use the main entrance by walking around the building rather than coming through the back hallway.

We appreciate your help in keeping our clinic clean, comfortable, and welcoming for everyone—two-legged and four-legged alike! 🐶🐾

🐣🌷 Holiday Hours Update 🌷🐣

As we head into the Easter weekend, we wanted to give our East Market family a quick heads up on our schedule:

📅 Closed Monday, April 6th (Easter Monday)

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday.

If your pet needs medications or has any concerns, please be sure to reach out ahead of time so we can help before the holiday closures!
