Rockin’ P Stables We offer full-care pasture board. Horses are group based on nutritional needs; from big grass pastures to dry lot paddocks, and everything in between.

We are located in beautiful Catawba Valley just 12 miles from the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg. Our quiet location is a great place to ride and unwind. We hope you agree! We keep up to 8 horses at a time with custom

izable boarding packages. These packages include:

- Basic Pasture Board
- Premium Pasture Board
- Self-Service Stall Board

Reach out to us and we will send you the breakdown of what each package includes and their prices. Some customizable options include: blanketing, custom feedings, and individual turn-out. Our amenities include:

* Two saddle racks per horse and plenty of room for your tack and grooming supplies.
* Full access to our outdoor arena.
* Feed room for custom feed and supplements.
* Concrete wash pad with plenty of water pressure.
* Full heated bathroom in barn.
* Well-maintained pastures
* Orchard and Bermuda grass pastures
* Covered cross-ties for grooming and tacking up.
* Quality hay

We live on sight so the horses are well looked after and we treat them as if they are our own. Recently, we were honored to play a small role in a training hosted by the Wilderness Medicine Society. This program brings together medical students from around the world to learn how to apply their skills during emergency situations in remote and sometimes severe environments. Throughout the course, students train in navigating snowy and icy terrain, survival in harsh conditions, rock climbing, swift-water navigation, and much more.

We had the privilege of hosting the Equestrian Medicine portion of their training. Two horses at our farm, Dilly and Joe, helped demonstrate how to assist an equestrian during an emergency. Students learned how to safely approach a horse in the field, when and how to use specific equestrian knots, proper haltering and tying techniques in emergency situations, and what essential items to look for in saddlebags.

What a useful program for these students. The experiences and practical skills they gain through this experience will be used to save lives in the backcountry and beyond. It was truly an honor to work with such exceptional students and to watch their confidence and comfort around horses grow throughout the training! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it!

All of the horses are staying warm and dry. Full bellies and water are two of the best ingredients for warm horses! Forage-based soups to encourage more water intake, and hay turns their bellies into a furnace 🔥 too bad we don’t operate like that!
