TOMORROW! It looks like the rain will stay away until the evening, so we are proceeding full steam ahead with our outdoor summer artist block party! This is a free, family-friendly event that you don't want to miss.

We have over 20 local artists participating who will be demonstrating their creative process and selling their work for sale. Theo Art School will be doing free-will donation face-painting, and they'll have a fun free craft for kids! We also have hide-and-seek for art themed prizes, a community canvas all can paint, a giveaway full of art goodies, and a HUGE sale on art supplies and misfit frames.

This weekend is a busy one, so make sure you make time for Carden Custom Framing's Summer Artist Block Party. Come for the art, stay for the fun!

TOMORROW, during our Summer Artist Block Party, we'll be running a HUGE sale on our misfit frames!

What are misfit frames, you say? These are custom, joined frames that are in perfectly good condition; they just had a wrong measurement, or a small defect that made it unusable for its original intended purpose. These misfit frames, already HEAVILY discounted in price, with an extra 35% will make them as cheap IF NOT CHEAPER than mass produced plastic frames!

Come for the artists, the demonstrations, the food, facepainting, and sales--stay for the fun time you're sure to have!

Yup. We saw the weather forecast too. But! We also know that Bismarck weather likes to keep us on our toes, so we're still crossing our fingers for a beautiful day.

If it's a little rainy, we won't let that stop us. If the weather is severe, we will post an update to our social media pages. No matter what, there will be some form of an art gathering happening here at Carden Custom Framing tomorrow, so don't count us out of your weekend plans!

Meet Juan Gelpi - one of the artists attending our Summer Artist Block Party!

Juan R Gelpi is the founder and proprietor of Lone Peak Studio. At Lone Peak Studio we create one-of-a-kind hand thrown pottery. We feature stoneware with decorative glazes, raku and obvara. Juan studied pottery at All Hands Pottery Studio in Virginia and Bismarck State College.

Meet Chris Thomas - one of the artists attending our Summer Artist Block Party!

Chris Thomas learned to weld at his grandparent's farm 35 years ago. He instantly fell in love with creating something useful from what most people see as junk. He gets lots of smiles and comments from people remembering using the pots, pans and tools he uses. If a magnet sticks to it, he can use it.

Chris will be cutting non-refillable tanks with a plasma cutter to create a flowerpot at the Summer Party. It uses a thermal process that travels at 2,000 mph and blows the material away. He will provide safety glasses for the bright light and sparks. You're going to love it!

Meet Lori Ivy - one of the artists attending our Summer Artist Block Party!

Lori has loved animals her entire life. From her earliest memories of a family dog, to bringing home fleas from petting strays, she has used this love as inspiration for her art. She loves creating beautiful pieces depicting pets of all kinds and in multiple mediums. From stained glass Great Danes, to painted cats, to ink drawings of skunks, everything can be an inspiration. She has grown over the last 3 years in the Bismarck/Mandan community and online, providing pet portraits nationally and internationally.

She lives in Mandan with two Great Danes, three cats, and her husband.

We're a day late and a dollar short with posting this in a timely manner, but we had such a BLAST participating in the Bismarck Downtowners Art and Wine Walk! AJ showed her art as we served delicious wine, cheese, and dried fruit. We loved seeing everyone come out to visit with the artists, enjoy the food and drink, and the discover businesses they might never have visited before.
