Today a great horned owl came into the clinic due to not being able to move his talons. He was found at the Oak Mountain Golf Course at hole #5 ⛳️. Dr Grimmett examined the owl & later decided it would be best to euthanize him since his quality of life was not very great. Sometimes the outcomes aren’t what we always expect but we still do our best to help any creatures! Thank you for watching the video. (More videos and pictures in comments)

⚠️ Graphic but satisfying!
Cysts like this can happen when a gland or hair follicle gets blocked and fluid builds up under the skin. Draining them relieves pressure and helps the healing process start.

If you’re brave enough… check out the video!

Yes or no — could you watch this? 👀👀

We had a very special patient today, in to see Dr. G! Little Matilda Jane, a sweet and silly spider monkey 🐒 She always puts a smile on our faces.

Good morning! Yesterday we had the pleasure of helping this beautiful barred owl with a prolapse. We aren’t sure what caused this to happen but hopefully the procedure Dr Grimmett did will help it to get to feeling better and released back into the wild very soon! Thank you for watching 🦉

Graphic image warning, but this story does have a happy ending!! 🐕
This girl was shot in the face three weeks ago and she is lucky to be alive!! She immediately went to the emergency vet for her first surgery. Some of the tissue didn’t survive so she came to us and Dr. G did a second surgery to clip away some of the skin that didn’t do well. Now, she has most of her staples out, and she is almost 100% back to her old self! Her owner has taken great care of her in between visits. She is lucky to be alive, but we are so thankful she is doing so good! Here are some progress pictures, as well as an Xray of her bottom jaw/teeth, where you can still see lead fragments lodged in her mouth.

Walter the bird was here to get his beak trimmed up today. His beak grows crooked and fast on the bottom, but Dr. G was able to fix him right up! We hope you enjoy! 🦜

This feisty hawk was brought in by the Alabama wildlife center with an old broken wing. It is passed the point of being fixed so he can’t be released, but they will be able to use him as an educational bird. We hope you enjoy!

Warning- graphic images with a happy ending!!
This kitten was picked up from the streets with an injured eye. Dr. G wasn’t sure if it could be fixed but he gave it a chance and he was able to fix it up! The kitten is doing great now and living a wonderful life. And our stray fund was able to cover the surgery, thanks to our clients for donating for a good cause!
