Blake (German Shepherd mix) came from a hoarding / neglect case, to the Bentonville Animal Shelter with his brother Sye (not pictured). He was extremely nervous around humans and other dogs, and needed help remembering correct social skills.
Blake came to stay at CoolWag for our two week board and train program, in hopes of adjusting to being around dogs and different humans. We exercised many different protocols with him to help him adapt to us, and realize that humans are not something to be afraid of. At the end of his two week stay, we had noticed improvements and got permission for him to stay with us for a longer period of time. We got one more week alone with blake, and a fourth week with him and his brother, Sye. We brought Sye in with Blake to increase comfortability with us and our staff, and to ensure that Sye could help Blake continue appropriate behaviors. During the last week, Blake's social skills were getting noticably more appropriate, and he was able to go back to the shelter with his brother.
We encourage anyone looking for a new addition (or two) to see if Blake would fit into your family. Such sweet pups go through the hardest situations, and deserve a loving home & family. He is still learning, just like many, and has great potential!
