I have been asked a few times over the last few days about the animals here, what's needed and if we have any being wintered over so I figured I would share here so you all know. I will update our Amazon wishlist after we return from picking up our new friend today. Our list is a generic type -we order stuff we need for the critters from same list.
As for what's here , what's ours vs rescue?
Every animal here has a story and 96% were rescued either from slaughter ( due to what was seen and it was felt they didn't belong there), didn't fit a program or needed vet care and we took care of it, helping other rescues , whatever the reason, the animals came to us for permanent home, to live out their lives. If there is an animal you are interested in learning more about let me know, I am happy to share their story.

We currently have; Non wildlife
1 Jersey cow( Minnie)
1 Dexter Mini Bull( Diesel)
1 Holstein Heifer ( Oakleigh)
1 Paint Horse ( Lakota)
1 Mini stud horse( Duncan)
1 Mini Jack Donkey ( Romeo)
6 Goats ( Lilo, Luna, oreo, Frosty, Red, snow)
1 Sable fox ( cross between Silver/Red) exotic
Too many to count Pigeons and Doves
I think there is 18 Geese
Too many to count ducks
4 Tom Turkeys
6 Dogs ( the only 1 not a rescue is Bruiser - my son's dog , who came from a rescue dog in a hoarding situation) Barretta , Lacie, orbit, Dodger, and Delilah
3 cats
18 Parakeets
2 cockateils
1 finch
1 macaw
1 cockatoo
Fish
1 Iguana
22 mini and potbelly pigs
6 Aquatic turtles ( different kinds) exotics
And Peafowl- 1 Peacock and 3 Peahens and 3 peachicks
And 1 surprise animal coming this afternoon

As for Wildlife we have 3 Young Raccoons ( head trauma ) and 1 black squirrel left.

I think I included everyone. We have a zoo- lol

As for what we could use ; Winter is coming so right now we are just preparing , we are building more pasture area, Straw and Pine chips for bedding, water de icers, Heat lamps, I think we have the majority covered so no dire needs.
We go through alot of Dog and cat food, produce, veggies ,litter, and cleaning supplies.

We couldn't do what we do without all of you- and your support in what we offer.

Hopefully we can offer more hands on next year!

Tomorrow we shall Welcome a new 4 legged, short stature, furry young lady to our " Farm" . We are kinda excited . We have thrown around talk of wanting one but was never gonna pay the ridiculous prices. Then when we took our " zoo kids" to the zoo for Halloween trick or treating, she was presented to us. We agreed to give her a home and then we met her and there was no denying that yes . Lol!
Some have seen pics and know what she is but the rest of you will have to wait until tomorrow for the arrival post!
We have also started extending our pasture out here and can't wait for it to be utilized by the Farm animals. 96% of the animals out here are rescues but every single animal here has a story on why it is here in our " sanctuary ".

We have had alot going on this month and we want to Thank all of our amazing Donors and supporters. We condolences half of what we do without you. This year so far has been an odd one to say the least.
We have had to let go of all our original dogs ( all were rescues except 1) and 3 of those within 7 months of ech other all due to Cancer. One included a boy we saved after being shot by a ridiculous individual. We now have 4 rescues- who all will remain here.
We have had to limit our intake this year on wild babies due to our kids having medical issues and things leading to 3 total care kiddos and a few hospital stays.
We have cut back on Farm and Fowl intakes As well.
We have been able to give a home to several other babies that needed an emergency placement.
We have been able to release several wild babies and help some others cross over when their time was needed.
We have had lots of 3D prints made and purchased!

Again , We couldn't do half of what we do without all of you.

Tomorrow we will meet a new big friend to our sanctuary farm . This one has lots of hair, 4 legs, and is said to be a gentle girl. Her 1/2 sibling passed recently and the owner feels she is sad and needs to be with others and offered her to us . We will meet her up tomorrow. For now, we are holding her info and will release her pics when she arrives, so stay tuned.

We will be only taking intakes that I can help quickly and don't require alot of care if I am unavailable currently. So for the inconvenience.
I will be going in for Neck /Cervical surgery next month and will be in hospital for 2 days and on restrictions and recovery is said to be about 6 weeks. We shall see. Hopefully, Spring will be a good turn around and we can be fully functional by then.
Between now and then though , we have lots to get done. We have new out buildings going up, new pastures being made, the nursery/clinic being finished and lots more to do.

I have some thoughts on things to offer next year including possible photo shoots here at the sanctuary and will make contact with some photographers and get some feelers out there. We will see where this goes and if its even possible.
We have purchased 3 live traps, cameras, and locks and building messy traps as we have found there is alot of dogs on the loose and we can help the trappers with extra equipment or help owners as well with getting their pets back home safely. We hope to have a better year for Gardening and so much more.
We are able to scan lost dogs for chips as well.
If you have ideas of things you would like to see, feel free to add them in the comments and if feasible maybe we can look into it further.

UPDATE 10/16- There have not been any more sightings posted or sent to us. So we are removing traps tonight and will continue watching. If we get more , if you see this dog please message 269 967 7090 and let me know. We are happy to set more traps .

Anyone recognize this dog? Currently in Eaton county but has been seen in Calhoun county. As well...

We are currently trying to trap it and get it care, while seeking owners . Our fear is it was another drop off. If you know the owner please have them reach out

Holidays are coming, Don't forget , we will take pumpkins when you are done with them- No paint, no glue, no dyes and Christmas trees- no garland, no bulbs, no icicles and no fake snow spray .... The farm animals love them and when the goats are done shredding the trees the doves and pigeons love the naked trees. Hay and straw bales you no longer need after removing decorations too. Everything has a purpose here!

We will also take your produce if you need to get rid of it....

And stay tuned for a new friend joining us soon..... not necessarily a rescue but a new friend regardless....

I'm sorry humans were so cruel to you but I am glad you trusted me and became as loyal as you did and learned love and that not every human is so cruel. Now, you will never have to fear another.

Thank you Jolly Road Veterinary Hospital team for yet another gentle passing and your compassion for our friends. I appreciate you all more than you may know.

Send some good vibes Jackson's way!

Not sure what is going on yet but definitely worried. He was his normal eager self yesterday and last night in the middle of night he started to act differently. He was hesitant when told to move over which wasn't normal. This morning was even more abnormal, he wouldn't jump off bed, he didn't want to go outside, he wouldn't run and he acted like he didn't feel well. He wouldn't eat or drink today, he just laid . His temp 102.5 so within normal range, but randomly would shiver. I didn't notice anything different when petting him and then tonight, I was petting as I have all day and found a lump on his neck. This would have been noticed earlier and it wasn't. It felt like a golf ball and then I get to looking and moving his head so I can get a better look and its actually baseball size. I'm hoping its not cancer. He will be going to vet in morning as soon as koda is on the bus. A message has already been sent and confirmed to get him in .

Next craft show isn't until Dec. And we are working onnalot of new things.
If our things ramp up again , I may just get another printer. All money goes to the animals here at the rescue /property .
