A HUGE & SUPER SIZED thank you to all of you who donated to, volunteered at or shopped at our first yard sale of the season!
It was a wild & crazy time but everyone got some great bargains, had fun & we raised $2878.50 for the kitties in care, our alumni that medical care or those that special diets are needed for, the cats that are in desperate need that come to us for help & those waiting to come in! Thanks to all of you who donated over & above the purchase price of the goods purchased to help the kitties!
Thank you to the Bath Senior Center for providing us such a great & friendly venue for our sales!
It takes a village!
Our next sales are May 24 with drop offs on May 23 and September 13 with September 12 for drop offs! Thank you all so much!

Our shy stray "Doc" has been with us about 2 weeks now. He is making progress but it's a slow process to gain trust with guys like him. I love him already ...he's not sure about me. I think it's the vacuuming on cleaning day. Anyway, He is warm, safe, dry & fed & we are forever grateful to our donors who help support him, our companions who care for him & do the hard work of rehab & to our companion Sally who worked hard to get him trapped & to the vet for his medical care to get him inside before this wicked cold snap.
It's not fit for man nor beast out there & much to my story man & beast are still out there with no shelter in places.
As you can see in one of the photos Rodeo is there at his door to reassure him that it's ok...he is safe.

Sweet Rodeo, our youngster who came in because he was too rambunctious & made his older companion cat miserable by pestering her to play.

Paw in the Door is selling these beautiful bulbs again this year to raise funds for the kitties at Christmas time!
We know they are priced higher than those you find at Walmart & the grocery store but as an amaryllis aficionado I can tell you the reason is that these are superior bulbs. The BIG difference is that they don't come with those pesky little mites that always seem to be hidden in the Walmart or grocery store bulbs so I am not fighting them & they aren't attacking my other plants all winter so I'm not buying mite sticks etc.
I got my bulbs yesterday & they are larger than the grocery store bulbs & completely clean with no skin to hide the mites. I planted 3 of the 5 I got last night & they are so big that they have barely a quarter inch all the way around the pot they are so big & this is what you want. They love close quarters & that also forced them to shoot up tall & produce multiple stems with multiple & large flowers.
I am attaching the flyer with the info on how to order as well as photos of the 3 I planted last night AND bonus photos of ONE of my red lion bulbs from last year. That bulb produced multiple stems as well as multiple flowers AND it flowered & shot more hearty stems & flowers a second time after the first flowering! Also shown was my Apple Blossom from Flowerpower last season.
I bought twice as many bulbs as I did last year I was so impressed & no more grocery store bulbs for me! Less is more when dealing with those pesky little mites you get as a bonus with Walmart bulbs...yes, I am a bit obsessed about those mites!
