We spread the word about the outreach we do in Kern county and the need for fosters to join Fosters & Volunteers Group Unity K9 Express Rescue

Ladies and gentlemen! It's getting close to our Monday night bingo! Come hang out and enjoy some bingo and beers all while helping save pups of Kern county.

If you live in Bakersfield and want to help out some pups please contact us.
We can only save as many dogs as we have fosters for.
Our short-term foster pup roommates come with all the supplies you will need and an unlimited supply of puppy breath and kisses.
Most stay only a few days to a week or two at the most until we transport them out of Kern county.

Sometimes in rescue you think you’ve seen and heard everything and almost become immune to the pain and suffering because sadly it’s part of what you see all the time and you expect owners to do crappy things.

However, this 11lb young chi named Peppermint Patty did not deserve to be kicked in the stomach by her owner for crying at the door or thrown over the fence.

Thankfully a local advocate contacted us and we were able to get her without knowing the abuse she’d been through.

Her foster immediately noticed the bruises and that see was terrified of men and pretty much life in general.

We’ve had her for almost 2 weeks, which is a longtime for a Unity K9 foster, as we wanted to get an ultrasound because she is so skinny it was hard to tell if she was pregnant and wanted to make sure she had the right goster .

And… the ultrasound shows heartbeats.

We will be reporting this animal abuse but in these situations it’s hard not to go pay a visit to the prior owner and kick him in the lower tummy and throw him over a fence.

We were called by the City Shelter about this little guy but we didnt know anything was wrong with his leg. We immediately said yes, thinking we would send him to WA, but quickly realized we were in over our heads & we couldn't send him to WA with these issues. We reached out to & they immediately said yes, they would help.

Well, I offered to foster after hearing his multitude of diagnosis & I'm so glad we did because he is such a ray of sunshine.
