Bakersfield Boxers & Bullies Rescue

Bakersfield Boxers & Bullies Rescue A non-profit Boxer and Pit bull Breed rescue in Bakersfield, CA Our main focus is education and helping people KEEP their dogs. We are NOT a shelter.

BBBR IS A 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization dedicated to Boxer and Pit bull breeds in Bakersfield, CA. Training is a priority, rehoming is a last resort. We operate SOLELY on donations and we rely on fosters to help us care for the dogs until a loving, forever home is found. Owners who prefer to rehome their dogs must hold their dog until we find a qualified, loving home. They’ll also need to be avai

lable to meet adopters. If you have found a dog and not sure what to do, we encourage you to always look for the owner first. Have the dog checked for a microchip (we do have a chip reader if you need help with that). There are many Bakersfield Lost and Found pages you can post on. We rarely post found dogs on our page because people wouldn’t come here to look. They’ll be looking at lost and founds pages. If you cannot keep the dog as a foster, then you’ll probably have to take to the appropriate dog shelter. We do not have a facility to take dogs in. We are a rescue but not a shelter. The Bakersfield City Shelter is on Mt. Vernon and the Kern County Animal Shelter is located on Fruitvale Ave. BUT remember that another dog or dogs will likely need to die to make room for the dog you take in. We are in a CRISIS of the overpopulation of unwanted dogs. You may be the only lifeline for that dog, so think about that first. We do help with stray dogs but only if a foster is available or if you can Foster that pup while we get things figured out for it. This will take time. There is no quick turn around for the dogs. If you are interested in donating, volunteering, or fostering for our rescue, please contact us! DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE! To donate:

😍 Oscar 😍

He’s a show stopper! Don’t let the cut ears fool you! He’s a very fun, athletic, but gentle guy.

Height: 24 inches tall

Coat: soft with a touch of coarseness, medium length, not much undercoat. Black and tan with some white on chest.

Body type: big barreled and strong as an ox, well proportioned chest and legs

Personality: very playful, very athletic, high intelligence, a total sweetheart, confident/alpha around other dogs, doesn’t seem interested in water, he’s a great mouse hunter!

Oscar is approx 6 years old and would be great for the novice dog owner. He’s obedient, loves to be challenged with games, plays well and loves playing chase with you. He’s got hops and jumps for joy when he see’s you or wants back in the house. He’s pretty strong on leash though so you’ll need to work on that but it’s a great opportunity to bond with him! His face is so cute because his snout is a little boxie and his big brown eyes are just precious. The clipped ears give him a tough look and his big bark goes with it, but he’s a lover not a fighter! You’ll definitely feel protected with a hunk like this in your home.

If you would like to meet Oscar, fill out the application and we’ll be in touch! Adoption fee is donation of your choice

😍 Look at this little muskrat! He is the perfect gentleman! He’s the perfect lapdog, very friendly, especially with other small dogs, loves people, sweet and gentle. Cats might be an option? He met a kitten and gently sniffed with no interest in harming it. He’s between 2-3 years old, potty trained, and has had the life of a vagabond so far. Would you like to add Chunky to your family?? He’s already neutered and said to be up to date on vaccines. How many times dogs are rehomed because there’s a new baby in the house! This is excellent leadership and training that people should do to enhance their dogs lives and keep them as part of the FAMILY. Take note, try it out 🤗 Sundee
