First of all, we are not "screaming." We are holding important neighborhood meetings that apparently only we can hear.
Now for the science: Cats are naturally most active at dawn and dusk. Our wild ancestors hunted during these hours, so our brains still tell us it's time to patrol, play, hunt, and announce our findings at 3:17 AM.

Summer fun is better when everyone stays safe—including our pets.
A few simple precautions can help protect your furry family members from heat-related emergencies:
• Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
• Walk during cooler morning or evening hours.
• Test pavement with the back of your hand before walks. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for their paws.
• Make sure fresh water and shade are always available.
• Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including excessive panting, weakness, drooling, vomiting, or collapse.
