About the Salon:
Opened in April 2021 by Reanna Brock and her husband Geoff Brock. Zen Spa for Dogs is a spa experience like no other directly catered to your furry best friends. We are located on highway 411 in downtown Etowah, direc

tly next to the GEM theater. We are a very safe, clean, and relaxed facility. We focus on the dogs needs and comfortability first and foremost. We have knowledge and experience in dealing with all breeds. Groomers:
Reanna has been grooming professionally since 2013. She specializes in comfort over looks. Her main goal is that your dog feels good! She is able to skillfully complete any grooming tasks such as: hand scissored clips, breed clips, training puppies to be groomed, special handling for senior pets and etc. She is unable to take any new large dog breed clients (over 30 pounds) due to physical restrictions. She grooms by appointments only Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Her phone number is 423-368-0783. Products and shampoos:
We use high quality shampoos and conditioners that are ph balanced for your dogs skin. We use cosmetic grade, luxury brands like Hydra and Chris Christensen. We have a variety of shampoos that we can select from for each pet depending on their skin, fur, and any allergies they may have. Our finishing sprays and colognes are also ph balanced specifically for dogs. Cancellation policy:
We ask that if you do need to cancel or reschedule your appointment that you please provide us with at least 24 hours of advanced notice. Services/Appointments:
We are a full service grooming salon that works by appointment only! Our full groom includes: a minimum of two baths with a Ph balanced shampoo for dogs that is specifically selected for your dogs skin and coat needs, moisturizing conditioning treatment, external a**l gland expression if necessary, nails clipped and filed, brushing, ear cleaning and plucking, and all over body haircut. We also can provide just a bath and brush, nail trims, or ear cleaning. Please call for an appointment! Walk in Nail trims:
We are able to take walk ins for nail trimming and filing only. Remember, Reanna is unable to accept dogs over 30 pounds. All dogs MUST be flea and tick free for a walk in service. Fleas/ticks:
Zen Spa for Dogs is a flea free environment. ALL dogs that come into the salon with fleas will be given an all natural flea bath to rid them of fleas. No exceptions. Flea baths are $5-$20 depending on the size of the dog. Ticks will be removed as long as they are not in excess. (Example a dog that lives outside covered in ticks (more than 10) needs to be seen by a vet not a groomer). These precautions are to ensure that our facility stays flea and tick free to keep all our clients comfortable and happy. Hours and appointments times:
Zen Spa for Dogs does not have set hours. We work by appointments only. This means we do not work a typical 9-5. Sometimes we work 8-1. Sometimes it’s 10-6. We ask that all clients pick up their pets in a timely manner. We will always call when they are almost ready. We typically take our first dogs at 8. Parking:
Parallel Parking can be found at the front of the building or the side of the building on 7th street. Due to limited parking We ask that you do not leave your vehicles parked in excess of 1 hour. Please remember to have your pet securely leashed. We are on a main, busy road. Wait times:
Turn around times for grooming or bathing appointments vary. Typically a small dog is finished within two to three hours. Large dog turn around times vary depending on coat type, service type, and temperament. If your pet is more difficult to groom, needs medicated or flea baths, or is in a longer "fancy" haircut, it will take longer. We absolutely do not rush on any services and pride ourselves in keeping the dogs grooming experience stress free and comfortable. Dematting/Detangling:
We at Zen Spa will not hurt a dog to please a person. We practice humanity before vanity. We will not perform extensive dematting to your pets. A few small tangles are fine we are trained to remove them without causing pain to your pet. But dematting is very painful and stressful to the dog. If your dog is matted, we will shave the matting out. Often times this means a very short haircut. It is your job as a pet parent to keep your dogs brushed and combed out at home so we can do the desired length. We can not undo weeks or months of improper brushing. If you are having trouble with brushing, we offer free lessons. Bedding and kennels:
We have various kennels, X Pens and clean soft bedding to keep your pets comfortable and safe while they are here at the salon. Drying:
We do not use dangerous enclosed kennel dryers. All our drying areas are open and well ventilated. All dogs will be hand dried or dried with comfortable air (fans with warm air) if they will not tolerate the hand dryer. Cleaning procedures:
We use pet friendly cleaning supplies, and disinfect all areas and equipment between each pet. Potty areas:
Please allow your pets to relieve themselves at home before their appointments. However, we do always walk them during their appointment stay. We have an enclosed grassy patio for them to potty that is only accessible by us.

Hi everyone,

First, I want to thank those who have shown kindness and patience recently. As some of you know, I’m grieving the sudden loss of both of my kitties, who were not just pets but deeply loved members of my family.

While I’m doing my best to manage everything, this has been a very difficult time personally, and I’ve made the decision to temporarily close the salon. I will reopen soon. When I do, I’ll be reaching out to reschedule affected appointments in the order they were originally booked. If you have not been contacted or notified of anything—your appointment has not been affected.

Please note…
🔹 I am not accepting new clients at this time.
🔹 I cannot accommodate urgent or last-minute appointments.
🔹 I’ll be returning to work gradually, at a pace that supports both my well-being and your pet’s comfort and safety.

If you’ve reached out and haven’t received a reply yet, please know I’m not ignoring you. I’m simply doing the best I can while navigating a very personal loss. Voicemails and auto-replies are updated with the latest information.

Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and for respecting the space I need to move through this and return with care and presence.

Trigger warning

This post is extremely personal and vulnerable. It involves pet end of life terminology and themes.

I try my best to remain your happy, smiley, reliable grooming professional but I am going through the hardest decision of my life. I’m not sure what the next few weeks look for me. I am going to end up taking this week off and the next as well. I know it’s the heat of summer and everyone wants their dogs clean and short, etc. But I have been forced to take a hard look at both of my personal cats quality of life/health. They are my absolute soul animals and the loves of my life and are both not doing well health wise. Edgar just had to be hospitalized for severe GI upset and they discovered an advanced heart murmur. Heart issues in cats are extremely unpredictable and the advancement of the murmur means his heart may be functioning at its best right now but realistically he could wake up tomorrow in congestive heart failure. Already having gone through this in 2021 with my angel cat Merlin. I know how grim and unforgiving this situation is. Cats with heart disease can be here one minute and gone the next. And that death isn’t kind nor peaceful. It’s a painful and terrifying process.
Felix has been struggling with respiratory problems for the past several years. And it is advancing. His asthma is getting harder and harder to treat. His breathing is becoming more and more difficult at times. I am treating him with every single available medication for asthmatic cats at him daily and it’s still not enough. It is just prolonging the inevitable. It is also very touchy and unpredictable. He could also go into distress extremely easy with the amount of inflammation that is in his lungs. His breathing is labored. His muscles are trembling. His body is tired. And while I believe he still does want to be here I also know his condition is stealing that comfort away.

The idea of losing my two furry children at once is immense. But if they were stolen from me in a chaotic, panicked, fearful, distressed way…that would be worse. Animals do not know the concept of future. They only know how they feel in the present. Therefore, while their present life is still overall happy and soft. I am choosing to give them their wings together in a peaceful, respectful, and dignified way in my our home before things get worse. A final act of kindness and devotion to them. I love them more than I have loved anyone, anything, and more than I ever will love again. Felix and Edgar have been with me since I was 19 and now I am going on 32. They have been the one constant for me through countless years of the sorrows that most of us face throughout life. And some that most of you are lucky to have never faced. They did their jobs and then some—providing me with 12 beautiful years of unconditional pure love. It is time for me to do my job for them. And I absolutely cannot bear the idea of working through their last weeks. I have devoted 13 years to being a pet groomer. Often working 6 days a week, 12-16 hour days. I have given a lot of myself to my clients and I’m humbly asking to be held in the same reverence and the same consideration through your grace, kindness, and understanding that I have to do this now. To take this leave from the salon. For myself. For them. And when I’m ready—you’ll be patiently waiting for me to return to care for your pets.
I need a lot of kindness, love and prayers.

Wow — I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of my amazing clients! 🐾✨
The summer calendar is nearly full — I’m fully booked for June and almost full for July. I am so grateful to stay this busy with so many sweet dogs. 💛

If you need to move an appointment or would like to be added to my cancellation list, just send me a text or call 423-368-0783!
👉 New client appointments for small dogs will open again in August.

LET ME BE CLEAR, as a pet nutritionist, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend kibble, that would be like your human nutritionist recommending a Big Mac. BUT and this is where I struggle, I understand that cost plays a big role in what we feed our animals and I work in rescue (so many need homes) but its hard because I really want to see animals get whole fresh food in their tummy

So here is a cheaper kibble that I think is a bit better than Purina or Blue Buffalo and my hope is that with the extra savings you can put an egg or some fresh chicken or turkey in every
once a while.

🌿 Zen Spa for Dogs June/July Booking Update 🌿

I am currently booked for the rest of June and almost fully booked for July!
At this time, I have just a few openings remaining, and I will be reserving those for my existing clients to ensure everyone stays on schedule.

✨ New client appointments for small dogs under 40-50 pounds will resume in August. ✨

A few important reminders:
👉 If you need to move or reschedule your appointment, please know that it may be a couple of weeks before I can get you back in — space is very limited at this time.
👉 I do maintain an ongoing cancellation list and will pull from that list first if any cancellations come up.

🚨 It is imperative that you notify me as soon as possible if you are unable to make your appointment — as soon as you know! This allows me to offer that spot to another client and keeps the schedule running smoothly for everyone.

I truly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as I continue to stay busy this summer! 💛
If you’d like to be added to the cancellation list, please reach out.

Thank you all so much for supporting my small business! 🐾

Daisy’s not even finished with her haircut yet, but she’s already feelin’ herself 😅❤️

Instead of hopping down for a break, she insists on staying right on the table—waiting patiently for me to finish her glow-up. 👑🐩 the grooming loop is not on and she’s totally free and able to get down as she pleases 🤣

✨ Just a note: Daisy is one of my longtime regulars from before I stopped accepting dogs over 50 lbs. Due to shoulder and back issues, I’m no longer able to take on new large dog clients. Thank you for your continued support and understanding
