Atchison Animal Control, Atchison Kansas

Atchison Animal Control, Atchison Kansas We enforce the city ordinances that pertain to all our furry friends, but unfortunately at this time we only house dogs.

We do not have the space or the proper housing for cats or any other animals. We have nothing to do with wildlife as well.

🐾✨ Phoenix Update! ✨🐾

Our sweet boy Phoenix has moved into a foster home, and he is absolutely thriving! 💕 He’s settling in so well, getting along beautifully with cats, and showing us the calmest, happiest side of himself that we haven’t seen since he first came into the kennel.

Foster homes truly make such a difference for animals like Phoenix — they give them the space to relax, learn, and shine. 🌟

We’re so proud of Phoenix and grateful to his foster family for opening their hearts and home to him! 🏡❤️

✨Roman is looking for a home✨

This is 2 year old Roman. He was only supposed to be a foster with this family, but his original abandoned him and now his current family is struggling. Roman is close to perfect, except that he needs to be in a home without livestock. He does great with kids and other dogs, but has been going after his current family’s livestock and this can’t keep happening. It’s not fair to anyone.

Roman knows “sit”, “lay down” and his house and crate trained. Roman needs time to get to know strange men, but he’ll be your best cuddle buddy once he feels comfortable. He is said to be a couch potato and loves being around his current humans. Be warned he may try to join you in the bathtub🤣

Roman is neutered and we are looking into whether he is up to date on vaccines. But he is ready to find a home that is safe for him and that could be you! If you would like to meet Roman, please reach out to us on Messenger or call us at 913-367-5530 and we will get you in touch with his current family. Please help us share Roman’s story!

We have a few folks willing to foster and we are working on getting these kiddos out of here!

🚨FOSTER NEEDED ASAP🚨

We are looking for a foster home willing to take in these two puppies that were surrendered today as their owner is now homeless. We have a vet appointment for them at 4 P.M. tomorrow (Thursday) to see what all is going on with them, as they are COVERED in fleas and there’s something wrong with their skin-probably an allergy to the fleas.

We need someone with a safe space to give them love and teach them some basic things like potty training and crate training. Your dogs would need to be fully vaccinated and preferably spayed/neutered, but so long as we can insure no diseases are spread, we are willing to work with you.

We provide the crate, the food and potty pads and toys. You provide the love and safety they need. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please call us at 913-367-5530 or send the page a message! Please share everywhere!s

🍯HONEY FOUND HER FUREVER HOME🍯

Honey was found back in early January, living as a stray and eating cat food that residents would leave out on occasion. I spent a whole week working on building trust and a routine with her and even taught her how much fun playing with squeaky balls and playing chase could be.

Thanks again to Sierra Baber, and for a resident allowing us to use their backyard, we were able to finally get slip leads on her and carry Honey to the work vehicle.

And now we present you with Honey and her new fur siblings😭 Her foster parents went through some ups and downs with her for sure, but they wanted to make this Honey’s last foster home and her furever home, so we had them meet with our trainer, Cassidy, from Pawsitive Results LLC Dog Training to work on a few things. And yesterday they decided to make Honey a permanent part of their lives!

We are so excited for Honey and her new family and we cannot thank them enough for seeing her potential and never giving up on her. Happy tails, Honey!

✨Lincoln’s Freedom Ride to Great Plains!✨

Our sweet little hound puppy came in as a dumped case. He had a flea collar when he first arrived but no one ever called or responded to our post about him being found, so we proceeded to teach him to be a total cuddle bug. As you can, A.C.O. Bell has a problem with loving the floppy-eared dogs too much and we were sad to see him go, but Lincoln is going to have the best time at Great Plains SPCA and will find his furever home in no time! A huge thank you to Great Plains for helping us again, we appreciate you guys so much!

A kind Samaritan picked up a medium-sized, mostly brown with a white chin to her belly, female dog found along KS HWY 7, between Pierce Seed LLC and Bendena yesterday afternoon. The dog was deceased and she did not want it to be smashed by a car.

I believe the dog was older than 2 years old, as she had tartar build up and her teeth were a bit worn. I also believe her eyes were brown, but I may be wrong about that. If you believe this may have been your pet, please reach out. I did take a photo of her and can send it to verify the identity.

The kind Samaritan will bury her tomorrow if no one claims her.
