Ready to fall in love? Because Roxie is ready to find her forever family—or a foster-to-adopt home to help her settle in! ❤️

Roxie is a playful, fun-loving girl who’s full of personality! She does great with other dogs, walks nicely on a leash, and is already spayed and ready to go.

She can get a little mouthy when she’s excited (nothing harmful—just puppy-style play), so we’re looking for a home without young children, just to keep everyone safe and happy. Older kids or adults with dog experience would be a great fit!

🌼POPPY WENT TO FOSTER🌼

We are so excited to announce that this cutie is now in a foster-to-adopt home and so far everything is going great today! She’ll have two canine companions and a feline one she’s trying to win over, but we are so excited and we have a good feeling about this match. Thank you to her fosters and we cannot wait to keep you all updated on the fun she’ll have!

Sully is a big, lovable 3-year-old boy who’s looking for a fresh start and a forever home. 💙 This handsome guy has been through a lot—he was heartbreakingly left behind when his previous owners moved away. Despite everything, Sully is full of love and ready to trust again.

🖤🤍Maybelline’s Before and After🤍🖤

Maybelline came in from a neglect case where she only weighed 35.4 lbs at a year and a half, had holes in her paws, fur discoloration from urine and f***s that she was forced to stand and lay in, and a fear of strangers.

Now our pretty girl is 51 lbs and going to a foster to adopt home after being spayed! She did super well with the cat during the meet and greet and boy how I wish I had recorded her running loose in that big of a yard for probably the very first time! If everything goes well, Maybelline will have a fur brother to show her the ropes and to play with forever! Fingers crossed for her and her foster family. Thank you for giving a shelter pet an opportunity at her furever home!

We personally want to shout out Captain Kelly! When I first started trying to learn ordinances and to do some of the basic casework for our dogs, Captain Kelly was there anytime I needed guidance. He will be missed but we both wish him a well-deserved and happy retirement!

A wonderful opportunity!

I'm pretty sure this will be our last low-cost spay/neuter until we can get another grant.

This clinic will be just cats. Atchison/Atchison County residents only.
June 26th (Thursday) at the Humane Society of Atchison. 125 N 21st Street
$50 male or female. CASH OR CHECK ONLY.
You will need to come to the Humane Society and fill out paperwork and pay before June 24th.
We can not hold a spot open for you. If you can't come at that date, see if a friend or relative can do it for you.
You would drop off your pet the morning of the clinic date between eight and nine and pick them up around three the same day.

🎶Rap Revival Reminder🎶

We hope you haven’t forgotten the Rap Revival litter! Ludacris and Missy just had their 11 month weigh in and we wanted to share! Ludacris weighed in at 91.6 lbs and Missy weighed 67 even! We got all of their shots and spay and neuter surgeries done last year, but these two are still looking for their furever homes. They are wonderful with kids and just want to cuddle and play. They are house and crate trained. We would love to find them a home before their one year birthday, 7/24, so please help us share these sweet babies! 🐾Neglected, Not Broken, Meet Vivi & Phoenix 🐾

This past month has brought many animals into our care at Atchison Animal Control, each with their own story—but few more heartbreaking than Vivi and Phoenix.

These two dogs arrived severely emaciated and neglected, but still full of quiet strength. Despite what they’ve been through, they’ve shown nothing but gentleness and resilience.

With time, care, and compassion, Vivi and Phoenix are on the road to recovery. They're gaining weight, regaining trust, and reminding us every day why we do what we do.

They are just two of the many animals we've taken in recently. Our team continues to work hard to provide safety, medical care, and love to every animal that comes through our doors.
