BIG NEWS!!!! $500,000 for Animals!!
Animals shape human lives in such beautiful ways. They steady us. They give rhythm to our days. They provide a deep and safe connection.
They bring us joy.
They ask for very little and return something that is difficult to name, yet easy to recognize the moment it’s gone.
To care about animals is, in a very real way, to care about one another.
What we continue to see are animals caught in the middle of circumstances they did not create, alongside good people doing their best in situations that have outpaced them.
Because when people suffer, animals suffer.
As we work toward rebuilding (sharing more very soon!), we have also asked ourselves a question: what does it look like to respond to this crisis, not later, not when we walk into our rebuilt shelter, but now? How can we strengthen the foundation before the foundation is even poured?
This is where we have arrived.
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is committing $500,000 over the next two years to support under-resourced shelter partners and to keep animals out of the shelter system in the first place.
The intention is straightforward. When our shelter partners have additional foundational support, space opens, pressure eases, and more lives move forward. When families have the support they need to care for the animals they love, fewer impossible decisions have to be made.
You, our community, showed up for Brother Wolf in ways that were immediate, generous, and deeply human. You reminded us that even in moments that feel fractured, people still reach for one another.
That instinct - to help, to steady, to stand alongside - is what made this amazing $500,000 commitment possible.
Being able to extend that same care outward now, feels like a gift, one that we carry with humility and gratitude.
Because what has been given to us does not end with us. It moves outward into our community.
This initiative is not separate from rebuilding Brother Wolf. It is part of it. So that when we do walk into our rebuilt shelter, things will already be in a better place for the animals who need us for generations to come.
We are still here because of you.
And because of that, we can be there for others.
Together, we save lives.
