🧪🔬 Cash Money Records takin’ over for the ’99 and the 2000…
Meanwhile, in 2026, we’re waiting for the Imagyst to read a cytology and discovering that our knees did NOT make the same long-term commitment.
Cytology is the microscopic examination of cells, and it can give our veterinary team valuable information about things like lumps and bumps, skin and ear infections, inflammation, and even certain types of cancer.
But before we get answers, somebody has to make the slide. 👩🔬
Depending on the sample, cells may be collected with a fine-needle aspiration, swab, impression smear, or other technique. Then comes the surprisingly delicate business of transferring those cells onto a glass slide without absolutely obliterating them, allowing the slide to dry, staining it appropriately, and making sure we’ve created something diagnostic enough to actually interpret.
Then…
we wait.
Our Zoetis Imagyst allows us to submit digital images of cytology slides for expert review, giving our doctors another powerful diagnostic tool without necessarily having to send the physical slides out to a reference laboratory.
And while modern technology has dramatically improved what we can do in-house, it has yet to solve one of veterinary medicine’s greatest challenges:
What exactly are you supposed to do with yourself while you wait for the results?
Apparently the answer is dance badly in the laboratory. Cash Money Records may be takin’ over for the ’99 and the 2000, but Father Time has been takin’ over these joints since approximately 2014. 🫠
Fortunately, The Poet Juvenile gave us a full 16-second warm-up.
The cytology may be diagnostic.
The knees are guarded to poor. 🫠
