As flowers bloom, so do risks for our pets, with plenty of opportunity for them to breathe in particles, scratch an eye, poke a paw, or even get snagged by a branch or thorn, all of which could potentially lead to infections.

Infections can be sneaky subtle—If your pet is not acting right and you are not sure what it is, get them checked! Like with most conditions, the sooner we treat an infection, the better your pet will feel.

🍔 A burger… made their way 🐾
Today is National Hamburger Day, but your pet doesn’t need the drive-thru version to feel included.

In fact, many classic burger ingredients—like onions, garlic, and heavy seasoning—can upset their stomach (or worse). The good news? You can still treat them—just a little differently. Think:
🥩 Plain, lean protein
🥕 Pet-safe veggies
🚫 No added salt, spices, or toppings

Because the best treats aren’t the ones we share…they’re the ones we choose with them in mind. ❤️
If you’re ever unsure what’s safe, we’re always here to help!

Every wonder how old your cat really is? Ever wonder why cat years are waaaaay different than human years?

Between Humans and Cats, our biology and aging process is entirely different. With metabolism and shorter life spans, this method allows us to calculate our cats maturity to help better understand their needs such as: Food intake, potential feline illness, and activity level.

Check out this guide to see how old your cat really is!

Meet Steve – Looking for a Quiet, Experienced Home

Steve is a healthy 10-year-old Exotic Shorthair looking for a very specific kind of home where he can feel safe and comfortable.
He is front and back declawed and has spent his life indoors. Steve is not an immediately affectionate cat and tends to be more independent by nature. However, with time, patience, and a calm environment, he has shown that he can bond with his person and become more relaxed and trusting. Steve would do best in:
* A quiet, low-traffic home
* An experienced cat owner who understands shy or sensitive cats
* A home with no dogs or other pets
Because Steve is declawed, he can feel vulnerable and may react defensively if he feels stressed or overwhelmed. He has been known to bite when uncomfortable, so he needs someone who can read cat body language and give him space when needed.
Recently, Steve has begun having some litter box issues, which his vet feels is related to stress in a home with dogs.
We wish that Steve is able to live out the rest of his life in a comfortable, loving, and stress-free environment. Please reach out if you would like to make him yours!

Did you know that 10-15% of the feline population is affected by heart disease? Heart disease in cats is considered a silent disease as our feline friends love to hide their symptoms well. So what should you know?

Where there are several types of heart disease, the most common is Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). HCM is the thickening of the heart wall and affects 1 in 7 cats. Some studies have even showed that the heart's structure can change in over 40% of cats that seem healthy. While heart disease has no cure, health and prescription management can help reduce clinical signs.

What are the symptoms should I look for? Where most cats don't show symptoms like our canine friends, you can monitor for any signs of:
- Lethargy or unwillingness to play
- Breathing difficulties or increased respiratory rate
- Sudden collapsing or fainting
- Coughing

Is it breed specific? Where nearly 20% of cats are affected, some breeds are predisposed to this condition including: Maine C***s, Ragdolls, Bengals, Persians and Sphynx's.

What can I do to manage my cats health? While there is not a preventative for heart disease, your feline friends overall health can be managed through Annual visits to your vet, weight management, and diet management.

It's our job to assure our fur babies stay happy and healthy, start by discussing the possibilities with your primary veterinarian!

It’s International Chihuahua Appreciation Day! While some may think “Chihuahuas are all the same” we know that’s not true (ok…they are all a little sassy…in the best way).

Do you have a chihuahua in your life? Which type?

🤡 Clown “I exist purely for entertainment (and mild destruction).”
👑Tiny Tyrant: “I run this house. Everyone else just lives here.”
✨Icon: “I am not a dog. I am a lifestyle.”
All of the above
