There has been tremendous love and support to WNC from many inside and outside of our region. In Henderson County, they've asked to stop donations. Around our hospital in Asheville, we are also starting to see an over-supply of donations. Yes, there are still folks out there hurting, struggling, and in need of basic things. And rest assured, there are wonderful folks out helping connect people to resources.

At this time we begin to explore the idea of what happens next. It's easy to go with the flow, to join the crowd. That's human nature. But what happens to Asheville & WNC when the attention is off our region? People will still be left hurting, sorting things out, and figuring out what to do.

So with this, we challenge you to set a reminder for yourself. One in 30 days, one in 60 days, and the last in 90 days. A simple, "Check-in on the Asheville area. Find & give something small to someone in need."

Many people lost loved ones, lost their houses and/or business, and/or had major damage to either or both. As we slowly enter the rebuild phase, needs will begin to change. Please, Please, Please reach out and support someone or something you care about! A little can go a long way!
