Emotional regulation in dogs…let’s talk about it!

Most of our behavioral dogs here for training have poor emotional regulation, meaning they don’t know how to manage those big emotions they’re experiencing. Whether this is rooted in fear, excitement, anxiety, or reactivity/aggression, they have a hard time controlling themselves.

This little exercise is similar to letting a baby cry it out. We are giving these dogs the space to work through their emotions and figure out how to bring themselves down a notch or two. We call this here at Operation K-911 the “Art of Calming the F*ck Down.” 😂

The masses have spoken!!! Everyone meet CARL!!! 😂😂😂

This fruit bat will be going through the K-911 Basic Training program and will then be ready for adoption! If you think Carl would be a good addition to your family, hit us up! We offer free lessons with every adoption so you can be successful with your new pup!

Carl is 1-3 years old and weighs about 90 lbs. He appears to be a German Shepherd mix, but definitely has some bulk to him so he’s probably some other guard or protection breed. He is extremely sweet and has been good with other dogs. He might be okay with cats, but our barn cats Kevin and Moseley aren’t about testing this theory out. We have partnered with Northwoods Animal Alliance - NWAA who will be getting him neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations and handling his adoption.

Make sure you check back next week as Carl starts his training journey! Hopefully he lives up to the hype!😎🐶
