Our mission is to unite all muskie fishing interests for the promotion and protection of a high quality muskellunge sport fishery in the United States and Canada. We will accomplish this by supporting conserva

tion practices and research based on sound scientific merit, and carried out by authorized federal or state agencies, appropriate academic institutions, Muskies Inc. chapters, and their members. We are committed to the abatement of water pollution; maintenance of records for muskies habits, growth and range and the dissemination of muskie information to every one.

We are beginning preparations for the winter ice fishing tournament. As we did last year we are intending to provide youth participants with a bucket containing tip-up, jig pole, and other miscellaneous goodies. We are looking for some folks to help sponsor buckets. The cost for bucket sponsorship is $34.00. If you'd like to participate you can drop off at Last Cast Fishing Outfitters in St. Germain. Or contact Jim Lund at 920-948-5706.

Over the weekend we hosted our 2nd Annual Northwoods Musky Challenge! Bluebird sky and flat waters made for tough fishing but a few still managed to have some luck. 4 fish were caught out of the 11 registered boats and the results are posted below.

1st place: Jeff Kinnally and Zach Arnott with 35 inch (2:41 PM) and 36 inch fish (4:59 PM!)

2nd Place: Aaron Katzmarek and Bob Walsh with a 38 inches (2:39 PM), also taking Big Fish of tournament

3rd place: Michael and Craig Singer with a 37.5 incher (8:19 AM), also winning First Fish of tournament

After the day of fishing, our awards and raffles were held at the Sayner Pub. Thank you to all entrants, sponsors, and donors for supporting our event. We are looking to continue to make the Northwoods Musky Challenge bigger and better every year. Look for a survey coming out soon to provide us with any feedback.
