There is some confusion surrounding this Yorkie mix that is currently in the care of FVHA.

This dog has not yet been returned to their guardian and is still here at the shelter.

If you are or know the guardian for this dog, please give us a call at 920-733-1717.

Update: as of 7/30/26 this dog is still at our facility. If you know any information regarding this dog please contact us.

This very frightened little cutie was found in the 700 block of E Florida Ave in Appleton.

We are going to let him/her decompress for a bit before we try to do an intake.

Some cats demand your attention the second you walk into a room, but Sass? She is a masterclass in the art of the slow burn and trust us, the payoff is spectacular!

Sass was originally brought to FVHA as a stray. Incredibly fearful in the shelter, she was sent to foster to have some time to decompress and come out of her shell, and she did just that!

📺 5 year old spayed female.
📺 Has bonded closely with her foster mom, rewarding her with soft purrs and deliberate, happy biscuits. She likes snuggling in bed and soaking up attention.
📺 Co-exists with the other cats and large dog in the foster home. Would be happiest in an adult only home or with quieter, respectful children.

Sass' adopter will need to be understanding that she may hide for the first few days post adoption while she adjusts to her new surroundings, but she is an absolute delight once she trusts you!

Kiara is a bully breed mix with a heart of gold!

This gorgeous girl recently found herself at the shelter because her previous family had to move and couldn't take her along.

🪎1 year old spayed female.
🪎Seeking a patient, gentle home where she can take things at her own pace.
🪎Underneath her shy exterior is a young pup who desperately wants to trust. Once Kiara realizes she is safe, her sweet, quiet affection starts to shine through!
🪎Kiara really comes out of her shell playing with other dogs and enjoys high speed games to chase and rough and tumble play.

If you have a soft spot for hound ears and soulful ears, you won't be able to resist Sadie and Cinnamon!

These two hound mixes came to us as a local surrender. They get along well, but are not bonded. They are available to adopt together or separately.

🌳Don't let their age fool you! At 6 years old, Sadie and Cinnamon still have plenty of energy.

🌳Because all the recent changes have been a lot for her to process, they need a low-stress environment that utilizes positive reinforcement and allows her plenty of time to settle in at their own pace.

🌳Both girls are sweet, social and enjoy human company.

FVHA will be closing our cat intake services after a cat in our facility tested positive for Panleukopenia. Precautionary measures are being taken to keep our current shelter cats healthy, including isolating some of our adoptable cats based on exposure and vaccination status.

Panleukopenia is a highly contagious viral disease of cats caused by the feline parvovirus. Kittens and immunocompromised or unvaccinated cats are most severely affected by the virus. Panleukopenia does not affect people or other animals. A vaccination for the virus is available and cats who are immunized have a lower chance of infection. Feline panleukopenia is a highly contagious, potentially fatal disease in cats. Fortunately, there are highly effective vaccines available to help protect against it.

Dr. Pepper is back from foster for a few days, and is hoping to find an adopter during that time!

In foster we have been able to learn more about this bashful guy:

🥤Housebroken, and is good about asking to go outside.
🥤Loves dogs more than people. He is seeking a home with a confident canine friend.
🥤Is calm, low key and incredibly quiet. He spends a lot of time hanging out in his crate when humans are around.

Dr. Pepper is seeking a kind and patient adopter that understands that he is the scaredyest scaredy cat. He will be happy to be your dog's best friend, but is much less interested in human companionship.
