Parking Lot Resealing – Labor Day Weekend

This weekend our parking lot is being resealed! If you have a drop-off or pick-up scheduled between Saturday and Monday, here's what to expect:

Saturday, 9/5: Lobby open 8am–6pm — but starting at 12pm, all drop-offs and pick-ups move to curbside only (through Monday night).
Sunday, 9/6: Curbside only, 10–11am and 4–5pm.
Monday, 9/7 (Labor Day): Curbside only, 4–5pm.

During curbside hours, please circle the building and form a queue along the curb near the entrance (see photo below) and our staff will come out to check your pup in or out. Please make sure collars and harnesses are fitted securely for a safe transfer.

All services are running as usual this weekend except we just won't be offering daycare on Labor Day.

✂️🐾 Our grooming team just got back from a weekend of leveling up their skills!

Kennedy, Brittany, Brianna, and Austin spent two days at the All American Grooming Expo in Illinois — soaking up seminars, learning about hand stripping techniques, brushing up on pet first aid, and geeking out with vendors over the newest tools and products in the industry.

Why does this matter to you? Because at The Ruff House, continuing education isn’t optional — it’s how we make sure your pup gets the best, safest, and most on-trend grooming experience every single time. 💛

As families across the Fox Valley continue recovering from the July 27 EF-3 tornado. For pet owners it comes with an added challenge.

🐾 Tornado Relief Update from The Ruff House 🐾

Our management team has spent the last few days personally calling every Ruff House family member living in the directly impacted areas of the tornado — and we're so relieved to share that everyone is accounted for, both two-legged and four-legged, and doing well. 💛 - Thank you Sam and Bryn.

We continue to be a resource for our community in a few ways:

🏠 Boarding — available for families affected by the tornado who need a safe place for their pets right now.

🍖 Free dog food — available for anyone in need, no questions asked.

We've also been overwhelmed by our amazing clients reaching out asking how they can help. The best way right now is by donating supplies — so The Ruff House is selling all collars, toys, leashes, food, and treats at our wholesale cost to anyone who'd like to purchase items for donation. A few wonderful humans have already gone on mini shopping sprees for the cause! If you'd like to do the same, just let us know at checkout that the items are for donation and we'll make sure you're only charged our wholesale rate.

We are also accepting donations of any sort and will be happy to drop them off at the donation centers for you.

Thank you again to every single one of our Ruff House family members for your kindness and support. If you or anyone you know is in need — of boarding, food, or anything else — please reach out. We're here for you.

🚨 FREE DOG FOOD — AVAILABLE NOW AT THE RUFF HOUSE 🚨

In the wake of Monday's tornado, we know so many families are struggling right now — and your pets shouldn't have to go without. We've got FREE dog food ready and waiting, and we need YOU to help us get it into the hands of anyone who needs it!

🐾 Grab some for yourself, a neighbor, a family member, or a stranger down the street — whatever it takes to make sure no dog in our community goes hungry right now.

🐾 FREE FOOD for PETS IN NEED🐾

We've been working hard behind the scenes — both internally and with our suppliers — and we're so grateful to share that Burlo Pet Services, our supplier of Fromm Family Foods , has generously donated A FULL PALLET OF 4lb bags of dog food for us to distribute to our community for FREE!

We anticipate our delivery this Thursday, and we'll update everyone the moment it arrives so we can start getting food into the hands (and paws!) of those who need it.

If you, a friend, family member, or neighbor has been impacted by the tornado and could use some help feeding your pup, we want to help. Please share this post far and wide — the more people who see it, the more pets we can help.

🐾 **Everyone is Safe at The Ruff House** 🐾

We want to let our Ruff House family know that all dogs and staff are safe and doing well! Dogs have been out enjoying playgroups again today — it was a bit windy, but thank goodness that's all we experienced.

Our building is safe and secure, and we'll remain open during regular business hours.

We couldn't be more thankful for our amazing team, who all showed up and stayed on site to make sure every pup in our care was taken care of. 💙

We know parts of our community are hard to get through right now. If your dog is already with us and needs to stay the night, just reach out — we have plenty of room.

And if you or anyone you know has been majorly impacted by the storm and needs help with pet care until things settle down, please don't hesitate to reach out. We love this community and we're here for you.

🐾 **Severe Weather Update from The Ruff House** 🐾

Our team is actively following our severe weather protocol. All dogs currently in our care are secure, safe, and resting comfortably inside our building in their suites — our team made sure every pup was settled in before taking shelter themselves.

Our building systems remain fully operational. Our generator is inspected weekly and tested every Monday at 10 AM, so if it's ever needed, it will automatically power HVAC, emergency systems, and lighting for everyone inside.

We hope you and your families stay safe through this weather as well. Once it passes, we appreciate your patience with our team regarding personal communications — their full attention will be on the dogs in our care as we work through our post-weather checks.

✂️🐾 IT'S TIME TO MEET AUSTIN! 🐾✂️

We've been keeping a little secret over here at The Ruff House — and his name is Austin! 🎉

Austin joined our grooming team a couple of months ago and has already been busy making tails wag and winning hearts. If your pup has already had the pleasure of being on his table, you know exactly what we're talking about!

Austin brings YEARS of professional grooming experience to our pack, and we couldn't be more excited to have him. Here's a little peek at the man behind the scissors:

✨ Favorite breed: English Bulldogs (those wrinkles! 😍)
✂️ Loves grooming: Doodles, Golden Retrievers & Miniature Schnauzers
🍝 Fuel of choice: Spaghetti Bolognese
🎬 Current obsession: DUNE (a man of culture!)
💛 Why he grooms: "It helps me feel like I'm doing my part in helping local communities" — and THAT is why he fits right in here!

Austin isn't just a groomer — he's someone who truly cares about your dogs and this community. We're so lucky to have him as part of The Ruff House family!

Holy cannoli!! The De-shed treatments we’ve had in our salon have been so satisfying 💃🏻😍

By the end of a hairy day like today we can barely see our floors in the bathing area 😂 but hey, better to have that fur in our eyeballs, leggings, lungs, and salon than on the pup 🐶🤪
