Lolly and Poppy are down at the barn this morning while I am cleaning stalls and they are having a great time exploring the barn!!! Super excited for my little mousers to start to spend more and more time down here. We are currently doing supervised time down here but eventually they will be down here full time during the day and then we will graduate to full time outside day and night with them coming inside for severe weather.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good collars/trackers where we can see where and what they are up to. After pumpkin going missing out of the blue on us we really want to be able to track these two!!

I am switching to summer schedule starting the first week of June so we can avoid the heat during the middle of the day. I will have available time slots M-F at 6am, 7:30am and 9am as well as 6pm, 7:30pm

I can also add earlier and later time slots as needed. Just let me know what day(s) and times work for you. Lessons are $50 a lesson.

We will also be adding in some non-riding horsemanship days as well. We will be doing those for 1 or 2 days a week depending on interest. This will include equine education, in-hand horsemanship ect. This will run from 10:30ish until 3 or 4pm so we will have waters available but have kids/anyone interested bring a snack or bagged lunch. It will be in the barn and run rain or shine. It will be $100 a day and based on interest we will see when and how long we want to run it this summer. Please let me know if your interested and if so what days work for you.

We will also be offering Individual Equine Education days for anyone interested. These will be a non-riding option for students and those who are interested in learning all about horses. Topics we will go over cover equine anatomy, equine first aid, equine nutrition, tack, in-hand pattern education ect.

I couldnt be more proud, each and every kid who competed did such a good job especially with such crazy weather. Everyone touched out the hot start and then the dangerous thunderstorm weather delay and then riding in the rain with lightning close by. Everyone did such a good job and I couldnt be more proud of each and everyone of them.

Rafter Cross Cowboy Church Youth Rodeo was such an awesome show! The kids did such a good job. We had a minor rain delay and we were dodging the severe weather but we got the whole rodeo finished. Ponies are tucked into their stalls for the night and my feet are killing me but I couldnt be prouder of my current and past students who are all doing the rodeo!!! 😍😍😍 Results and overview coming tomorrow. Here are some photos from grand entry!!!!

Scores and Placings from Rafter Cross!!! Super proud of all the kids!!!

Goat Tying:

SR Goats - Jolene - No time
The goat was super wiggly and Jolene hopped off and did a great job catching and flanking the goat, just got a little stuck Tying it!

HS Goats - Kayla - 25.175 - 5th place!!!!
Kayla did such a great time for this being her first time Tying to goat, the goat stake was trying to come up and she got the goat which ran around a bunch!!

Barrels:

JR Barrels - Levi - 137.082
After Levi's fall on thursday he decided to walk all the patterns on Teddy at the show. And Teddy did such a good job taking care of him!!! Levi was back to trotting Phoenix around in his Monday lesson like a champ!!

SR Barrels -
Bella - 24.669 - 7th
Jolene - 27.174 - 10th
Annabel - 31.480 - 12th
Elayna - 35.039 - 13th

I am super proud of all of these girls. They all did such a good job horse sharing and swapping saddles. We had a pony pit crew on the back side swapping saddles and making sure everyone wad in the saddle that worked best for them. And Teddy was a rock star packing the kids around at the sp*ed he felt was safe for them to go!!! Annabel took tessa on her first ever barrel run. Tessa did such a good job for her first ever barrel show! Show jumper learning a new discipline!!! Elayna made the save of the night, she lost her stirrup around the first barrel, lost her reins. Got her reins back, kept Teddy from crossing the timers and then got her stirrups back to finish the run!!! She handled it amazingly!!!

HS Barrels -
Kaitlyn - 22.564 - 7th
Alexis - 22.851 - 9th
Kayla - 22.960 + 5 for a knocked barrel = 27.960 14th

The girls ran fantastic runs! They were all super quick and kayla was on track with Cupcake to be in the top 3 for Barrels when cupcake got stuck in the deeper footing around the last barrel and just clocked the barrel with her chest. Then kayla kicked her on to still have a 22 second time after she came to a complete dead stop.

Kaitlyn ran the best time shes ever run on Teddy. They were booking it on Barrels.

And Alexis passo mare Rumba did such a good job for her first ever competition. She got a little stuck in the deeper footing but otherwise handled Barrels and poles so well. Shes such a quick mare!

Poles!!

JR Poles
Levi has the most comical run of the night as Teddy decided to p*e mid run and no one could catch their breath 😂😂😂 He unfortuantly double weaved one of the poles so he got a no-time. But he did such a good job navigating teddy through both patterns!!!

SR Poles
Jolene - 30.232 - 4th
Bella - 32.327 - 6th
Elayna - 34.676 - 8th
Annabel - 35.288 - 9th

These girls all did absolutly fantastic on poles. Tessas first show on poles and she ended up cantering through the first section which was so exciting to see!!! And Teddy was his normal rock star self and was auto adjusting to where everyone was!!! Super proud!!!

HS Poles
Kayla - 23.905 - 1st
Kaitlyn - 26.666 - 6th
Alexis - 27.093 - 8th

So proud of all the HS girls. Kayla came back from that tipped barrel to run an amazing pole time abd come in 1st place!!!! Kaitlyn did a smoking pole run on teddy!!! And Alexis did such a good job running the pole pattern on Rumba when this was her 2nd time ever doing poles with her.

So proud of all the girls. We are using this as our base line times and working to steadily improve them throughout the youth rodeo season!!!!
