❗️~NEW SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT~❗️

We are introducing our *EXPLORER PUP* Program!

This is an add-on option for daycare/boarding clients currently enrolled in our services. Explorer Pup is a 15 minute outdoor walk with our Professional Trainer, Justin! This is a great option for easily stimulated dogs to get a little one on one enrichment in a calm, natural environment. It's also great for adding a little extra enrichment into any pup's day! The sights, sounds, smells, and change of scenery are sure to bring a smile to your pup's face.

This is offered on a limited schedule between both facilities. Please check with us to see when it could be available to you!

*Please note there will be safety gear requirements*

Wanted to update you all that we've updated our website! Check it out here: www.themichaelmovement.com We are working hard to raise some funds, since our first foster, Luna's, unexpected medical needs put us in the negative - we need to build that back up before we can assist any other pets.

That being said.. We are preparing ourselves to take in more animals in need. If you are interested in helping here are some ways you can do it!

1. Donate funds! You can donate through Venmo, Paypal or CashApp from our website: https://www.themichaelmovement.com/how-to-help/donate/
You can also drop cash or checks off at either Howling Peaks location (just make it out to The Michael Movement)

2. Donate supplies! Gently used dog items are our highest need (beds, food (wet or dry), treats, toys, collars, leashes) Again, we house these items at our business partner Howling Peaks, so drop offs can be done there!

3. Donate Space! We are aiming to build an arsenal of foster homes we can call on as the need arises. Fill out our Foster Application https://form.jotform.com/250906753570056 today! When we have a dog in need, we will look through our applications on file and place a dog in the appropriate home. We need to have homes ready before we can accept dogs.

We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit, 100% volunteer based. We aim to help animals in need and it takes a village - thanks for being a part of that village

New kid on the block!!!!

Meet Herbie!! A 7 year old, neutered male with a smile to melt the hardest of hearts. This boy LOVES his people! He is confident and comfortable and looking for a couch! He does well with other dogs as long as they respect his space. A meet and greet with possible housemates is a must.

Yay Luna!!!

We have WONDERFUL news to share! Our beautiful Luna is fully healed from her spay surgery and her bladder infection! She is feeling so much better and she even landed herself a home! That's right... status update: ADOPTED!!!

We received a few phone calls and questions in regards to our grooming services so I would like to take some time to answer some of those questions.

Grooming is offered Monday-Thursday 8am to 4pm by appointment only.

Full grooming and baths is only available at our Lake Otis Location.

Yes, all grooming services can be add-on serviced to both boarding and daycare reservations.

We are currently accepting new grooming clients. However, all new clients must create a pet profile and provide proof of their dogs current vaccination records.

All grooming clients both seasoned and new must sign our grooming waiver/consent form each time upon check-in to insure that we have the correct services added to each grooming reservation. There is a notes section on the waiver that is read for each client.

When booking grooming services there will be a 50% deposit collected upon booking. The base prices are based by the weight of each pup that comes in. Yes, we will weigh your pups in our lobby upon check in.

Howling Peaks will consume the deposit holding the reservation if you do not allow us a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or do not show up to your reservation.

We do offer a Flea, Tick, and Lice treatment add-on to baths. Fingers crossed no one will have to use that service. But if you do please let us know.

Introducing our Groomer Ciara!!

About me:

Grooming dogs has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started when I was just 10 years old, and what began as a childhood passion quickly turned into a lifelong calling. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of grooming environments, including salons like PetSmart, Petco, and Pet Supplies Plus. These experiences allowed me to refine my skills and learn how to work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.

I’ve also had the privilege of running my own grooming businesses — first in the Netherlands for two years, and later in North Carolina for two more. As an ethical groomer, I take pride in acknowledging breed standards and understanding each breed’s unique quirks to ensure every dog’s grooming needs are met appropriately.

Recently, I relocated to Alaska as my husband begins his journey in the army, and I’m excited to start this new chapter at Howling Peaks. I believe grooming is about far more than just a haircut — it’s about building trust, making dogs feel safe, and helping them look and feel their best. I look forward to connecting with the wonderful pet owners here and caring for their beloved companions.
