🎆🐾 New Year’s Eve Pet Safety Reminder 🐾🎆

New Year’s Eve celebrations can be scary and dangerous for pets. Fireworks, loud parties, and unfamiliar guests often cause anxiety and panic.

Here are a few ways to keep your pets safe:
🐶 Keep pets indoors and in a quiet, secure room
🐱 Close windows, doors, and pet doors
🐾 Make sure collars & ID tags are up to date
🎶 Use calming music or white noise to reduce stress
🦴 Provide a cozy space with familiar blankets or toys
🚫 Never leave pets outside during fireworks

If your pet experiences severe anxiety, talk with your veterinarian before the holiday about safe calming options.

Let’s ring in the New Year safely for every member of the family — including the four-legged ones 🖤✨

🐾 Happy New Year from all of us! 🎉

🐾 Post-Christmas Pet Toy Safety Check 🐾
The wrapping paper is gone, the treats are eaten… now it’s time for a quick safety check on the toys your pets received for Christmas 🎄🐶🐱
Before playtime, take a moment to:
✔️ Check for loose strings, ribbons, or buttons
✔️ Make sure toys are the right size (no choking hazards)
✔️ Watch for cracks, tears, or broken pieces
✔️ Remove stuffing or squeakers that are coming loose
✔️ Toss anything that looks worn or damaged
New toys are fun — safe toys are even better ❤️
A quick inspection can prevent an emergency and keep playtime happy.

🐾 Did You Know? 🐾

🦠 The parasite that causes toxoplasmosis (Toxoplasma gondii) is surprisingly unique — it actually shares some biological traits with plants 🌱

This parasite belongs to a group that contains structures similar to plant cells, which helps it survive and adapt in different environments. That’s one of the reasons it’s so successful at spreading among animals and humans.

💡 Why does this matter?
Understanding how this parasite works helps veterinarians:
✔️ Better diagnose infections
✔️ Educate pet owners on prevention
✔️ Protect pets, families, and especially those with weakened immune systems

🐱 Cats are the primary hosts, but with proper hygiene, litter box care, and regular veterinary visits, the risk can be greatly reduced.

Have questions about parasites or your pet’s health? We’re always happy to help — education is part of good medicine 🩺💙
