We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🧡🐾
As we head into the weekend, temperatures are dropping fast — we’re looking at overnight lows around 19–20°F.
Please keep your pets safe, warm, and indoors. If they must go outside, limit time outdoors and make sure they have dry bedding, shelter, and fresh (unfrozen!) water.

Stay warm, and give your furry family an extra snuggle tonight! ❄️🐶🐱

🚨 EQUINE HEALTH UPDATE — CONFIRMED EHV-1 CASE IN RANDALL COUNTY 🚨
The Equine Disease Communication Center has officially confirmed a case of EHV-1 (Equine Herpesvirus-1) in a horse located in Randall County.
This case is associated with the ongoing EHM outbreak, and awareness is extremely important right now.
While this is not a reason to panic, it is a reason to stay informed and proactive.
👉 If you own horses, please contact the veterinarian who regularly cares for your herd to discuss any concerns, monitoring, prevention steps, or biosecurity recommendations specific to your situation.
EHV-1 can spread quickly among horses, and early communication with your veterinary provider is key to keeping your animals safe.
As always, our clinic is here to support our horse-owning community with information and resources. Stay vigilant, practice good biosecurity, and reach out to your equine veterinarian if you need guidance.
Stay safe, Randall County. ❤️🐴

🦃 Happy Thanksgiving Week from all of us at the clinic! 🐾

We’re just a few days away from turkey, pies, stretchy pants… and of course keeping all your fur-babies safe during the holiday!
But first, we have an important question:

👇 Are you a Thanksgiving LUNCH family or a THANKSGIVING DINNER family?
Tell us in the comments — we love seeing everyone’s traditions!

(And yes… your pets definitely think the answer should be whichever one includes sharing. 😆)

In light of the current EHV-1 outbreak, the AAEP and the Equine Disease Communication Center (EDCC) have organized a horse owner education webinar to bring you the most up to date information on this issue.

Next Tuesday, join specialists Lewis R. “Bud” Dinges (Texas Animal Health Commission Executive Director and Texas State Veterinarian), Dr. Krista Estell (AAEP/EDCC) and Dr. Katie Flynn (USEF) for an informative discussion about what EHV-1 is, how to recognize it, and most importantly, how to prevent its spread.

This webinar is FREE, but registration is required. Register here: https://events.zoom.us/ev/AnIoJrASj0vuX7Q_K87mKEjg5bxeMAkqp7fpSoOgVtVm_Zgo1g5m~AiiV7ZQ3bbmlEW2iSkeRTSAfMCYf2QhFMoprr7WRbM_MsiJRcBGT1oLj0Q

*PLEASE NOTE: the attendee limit for this session is capped at 1,000. However, all who register will be emailed a link to an on-demand recording that will become available 24 hours after the live session ends.
