We are thrilled to announce and introduce you all to the new veterinarian that will be joining our clinic team in June!
Dr. Joshua Cabello was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from West Texas A&M University before going on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine as part of the Class of 2026.
Prior to becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Cabello gained over a decade of experience as a veterinary technician at local clinics in Amarillo, where he built strong relationships within the community. He has a special interest in exotics, wildlife, soft tissue surgery, and orthopedic surgery, and plans to be actively involved in wildlife and zoo medicine.
Dr. Cabello is excited to return home and serve the Amarillo community as part of the team at High Plains Veterinary Clinic. He is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care. He looks forward to contributing to the clinic and continuing to grow as a veterinarian while serving the community he has always called home.
Outside of work, Dr. Cabello enjoys spending time with his wife, Alyssa, and their pets. He also enjoys traveling, working out, watching his favorite TV shows, and spending time with family and friends.
