For over 50 years, Holmes Animal Clinic has been a trusted name in veterinary care in Algona. Founded in 1974 by Dr. Doug Holmes, the practice has grown into a true family legacy. Today, three generations of veterinarians—Dr. Doug, his son Dr. Jeff, and granddaughter Dr. Danielle Holmes Kane—have proudly served the community’s pets and livestock with compassion, innovation, and expertise.

With state-of-the-art services such as digital imaging, laser therapy, an in-house lab, and advanced surgical care, Holmes Animal Clinic continues to combine modern veterinary medicine with a family tradition of genuine care.

Everyone is invited to join the Chamber Ambassadors as we gather at Holmes Animal Clinic on Friday, October 24th at 9:30 a.m. for the weekly Chamber Coffee.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for their team to share more about Veterinary Tech Appreciation Week (celebrated Oct. 12–18), highlight their Pet Costume Contest, and introduce their newest veterinarian, Dr. Rory Friedow.

To round out the week we celebrate Merete Klocke! She joined Holmes Animal Clinic in August of 2017. Her and her husband Jeff, have 3 children and multiple pets. She enjoys spending time with her family. Merete is retired Army Veteran! She also enjoys spending time with fellow veterans! 🇺🇸

Let's show our appreciation for Abbie Buscher today! She enjoys working out, promoting organ donation awareness, sneaking in a good nap, and spending time with her husband and fur kids Baloo and Marlee. She has a passion for helping patients recover from orthopedic procedures. Fun fact, she loves corgis! If you are in the office you might get a chance to say hi to Louie!

Join us in thanking Brianna Ziegler who joined the Holmes Animal Clinic in March of 2022. She lives in Whittemore with her boyfriend, Spencer and their son Lane. She loves to spend time with family and friends, and crafting. Fun fact, she prefers to be called Bri! Her attention to detail is greatly appreciated by all!

Our first highlight is Carly Main! She joined the Holmes Animal Clinic in 2016. Grew up raising and showing cattle, sheep and farming crops. Exciting fact, Carly is engaged to Derrick! They live on an acreage with Steele, Skye and a small flock of show lambs. She always brightens everyone's day with her energetic personality!
