Paws, people, and plenty of good energy! 🐾❤️ We had such a great time bringing the Canine Cardio experience to Paws in the Park! From pups hopping on the treadmills and getting their steps in to meeting so many new faces, it was a day full of wagging tails and happy dogs.

And of course, we can’t forget Cubby! 🥹🐶 Safe to say he stole the show and made quite a few new fans along the way!

Six years of costumes, creativity, and a whole lot of tail wags! 🎃🐾

Our 6th Annual Halloween Costume Contest was one for the books! From the creative costumes to the excitement, familiar faces, and ALL THE FUN IN BETWEEN, we loved celebrating another year with our Canine Cardio community. 👻

🎃🍬 Halloween candy might be a treat for us, but it can pose serious health risks for our dogs!
Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, which are toxic to dogs, while sugar-free candies containing xylitol can cause life-threatening drops in blood sugar. Even raisins and candy wrappers can lead to serious medical emergencies. 🐾
Before the Halloween festivities begin, make sure all candy is stored securely, remind guests not to share treats with your pup, and keep trick-or-treat bags out of reach.
🚨 WHAT TO DO IF YOUR DOG EATS HALLOWEEN CANDY:
🐾 Act immediately! Don’t wait for symptoms to appear.
🐾 Remove any remaining candy and identify what your dog ate, including the ingredients and approximate amount.
🐾 Contact your veterinarian, an emergency animal hospital, or a pet poison control service right away.
🐾 Never induce vomiting unless specifically instructed by a veterinary professional.

What a great turnout at the Reston Howloween Festival! 🎃🐾

We loved meeting so many dog parents, connecting with the community, and sharing more about what we do at Canine Cardio. We hope everyone walked away with a little more insight into the importance of mental enrichment, structured exercise, and giving our dogs opportunities to thrive both physically and mentally!

🇺🇸🎆 Happy 4th of July & Happy 3rd Birthday, George! 🎂🐾

Today we’re celebrating one of our favorite good boys and wishing George the happiest birthday! ❤️

While you’re enjoying the holiday, remember that the 4th of July can be one of the most stressful days of the year for dogs. Fireworks, parties, and unfamiliar noises can be overwhelming—even for confident pups.

A few ways to help your dog have a better holiday:
🐾 Get them out for plenty of physical exercise before the fireworks start.
🧠 Add mental enrichment like sniffing games, frozen Kongs, or puzzle toys to help tire their brain.
🏡 Keep them safely indoors before dark with doors, gates, and fences secured.
🎶 Close the blinds and turn on music or the TV to help muffle the fireworks.
🦴 Give them a cozy, safe place to relax where they feel comfortable.

A tired dog is often a calmer dog—but remember, exercise won’t completely eliminate fear if your dog is truly noise-sensitive. If your pup struggles every year, don’t wait until the fireworks begin to make a plan.
