The weather is going to be hot, but we're doing some pretty "cool" searches this week in Lori's classes!! We're pulling out all of the fans and we'll be using them in the search area so your team can learn how to do some problem solving with air movement.

It's still going to be warm outside!! Be sure to bring whatever you need to keep yourself and your dog cool while waiting to search.

We have room in several classes, join us for a drop-in if you're not enrolled in a regular class. Registration can be found on the Do Over Dog Training website or in the Facebook comments.

Why should you sign your dog up for Introduction to K9 Nose Work with Anne at Sergeant Sniffers?

K9 Nose Work® classes offer a wide range of benefits—for both you and your dog. Whether you’re looking for enrichment, confidence-building, or competitive sport, here are some reasons to give it a try:

Mental Stimulation - Nose work taps into your dog’s natural hunting and scenting instincts, providing deep mental exercise. It’s especially beneficial for high-energy dogs who need an outlet beyond physical exercise.

Confidence Building - Dogs of all ages, breeds, and confidence levels can participate. Shy, anxious, or reactive dogs often blossom in this activity because they’re allowed to work independently and at their own pace.

Bonding Time - It strengthens your connection as you learn to read your dog’s body language and work as a team. It’s a shared challenge, where your dog is the expert, and you become their supportive partner.

All-Weather Activity - Nose work can be done indoors or outdoors, making it ideal year-round regardless of the weather.

Accessible to All Dogs - Puppies, senior dogs, dogs with physical limitations—everyone can play! It’s low-impact and adaptable, which makes it inclusive and fun for a wide range of canine companions.

Real-World Applications - Builds focus, resilience, and independence—skills that carry over into everyday life. Even dogs who aren’t interested in formal training often love nose work because it’s self-rewarding and instinctual.

In short, K9 Nose Work is one of the most enriching and rewarding activities you can do with your dog—whether you’re looking for fun or pursuing a sport. It's not about obedience—it's about trusting your dog and letting them lead. Did you need more reasons???

Our next Intro class begins on Tuesday, July 8th at 7:45pm. This class runs 1 hour per week for 6 weeks. Registration can be found on the K9 Nose Work page of the Do Over Dog Training website.
