Pre-Summit Dogs were in the house today!!

Our Elite/Summit class worked on some high/low challenges earlier in the day…and let’s just say, they were CHALLENGING! So we decided to try it with the Pre-Summit dogs to see how they would do.

And they did GREAT!

What exactly are Pre-Summit Dogs, you ask?

This is our Intro to Odor class for experienced handlers with lofty goals. ;-) We’re not just teaching these teams how to search for odor—we’re laying the foundation for the skills they’ll need as they progress through the levels and, ultimately, work toward that big goal.

We’re challenging them, building independence, developing their odor skills, and preparing them for the real-world challenges they’ll encounter along the way.

And these teams are ROCKING IT!

The road to Summit is a long one, but we’re starting these dogs off with big goals and big expectations! If you'd like to join our program we have an Intro to K9 Nose Work class starting next week!!

Get some practice in before the upcoming Odor Recognition Test (ORT)! Work with an NACSW™ Certifying Official and Certified Nose Work Instructor who will coach you through the entire ORT experience. Whether you're preparing for your very first ORT or just want to build confidence before test day, this is a great opportunity to fine-tune your skills.

During your runs you'll experience an ORT-style setup while receiving helpful feedback on search strategy, handling, leash management, start-line routine, timing, and reading your dog's behavior. We'll help you identify areas to polish before the real thing so you can head into your ORT feeling prepared and confident.

The Mock ORT is open to everyone—you do not need to be an NACSW member to participate. It's also excellent container practice for teams competing in any nose work or scent work venue, including AKC, C-WAGS, USCSS, and more.

Need even more practice? Sign up for a second run! A second attempt gives you the chance to immediately apply what you learned during your first run and build even more confidence before your next trial or ORT.
