The Last Christmas of Fluffette, the Groomingdales Ghost” 🎄
No one at Groomingdales ever expected a ghost to be born from dog fur…
But one holiday rush, while poodles, pomeranians, and doodles donated their winter coats, a mountain of soft white fluff piled high on a grooming table. When the final snip fell, the lights flickered, the air shimmered—
and the fur pile stirred.
Two tiny pink hollows blinked open.
A soft, wispy chirp floated out.
And just like that, Fluffette was born.
She wasn’t a scary ghost—just a confused little lady made entirely of leftover pup love. She drifted around Groomingdales trying to “help”: fluffing bows, nudging treats toward nervous pups, and attempting (unsuccessfully) to sit in a tiny chair without floating away.
But on Christmas Eve, a cold draft swept through the shop.
The lights dimmed…
And Fluffette felt her magic fading.
Fur-ghosts can only stay as long as the holiday spirit that creates them.
So when the last pup went home and Groomingdales fell quiet, Fluffette climbed into her tiny wooden chair, looked around the shop she adored, and with a soft poof—like a snowflake sigh—she drifted apart into gentle fluff.
In the morning, the groomers found a small pile of white fur and two faint pink spots where her eyes had been. They gathered her tenderly and tucked her into a Christmas ornament.
Now, every year, they hang her on the tree.
And sometimes—just sometimes—two tiny pink eyes seem to glow inside…
still watching over all the pups of Groomingdales.
