The answer to the constant question…boy or girl…

“I only want a girl!”
If I had a treat for every time someone told me they were only interested in a female puppy… I’d be eating dinner out of a puzzle feeder.

Here’s the truth that most breeders know — and most puppy buyers don’t:

Male Cavaliers are often more affectionate, goofier, and easier to please than females.
Yes, really.

While people often assume girls are sweeter or easier to train, it’s usually the boys who are glued to your side, climbing into your lap like it’s their full-time job. They’re laid-back, loyal, and endlessly cuddly.

And the girls?
Also wonderful — but often more independent, opinionated, and (dare I say it?) a little bossy. We lovingly refer to them as the CEOs of the litter. They love their people, but usually on their own terms.

So why are females requested more often?

Because of some very common — and honestly, outdated — assumptions:
• That females are smaller, sweeter, and easier to train
• That males are dominant or territorial (when actually, unspayed females are often more so)
• That families need a girl dog to “match” their vibe or replace a beloved female they’ve lost
--and that boys will mark everywhere in the house no matter what

But here’s what experienced breeders will tell you:
• Males tend to be more consistently affectionate, tolerant, and eager to please
• Females are often a little sassier, more independent, and more likely to be territorial during hormonal shifts

"The girls love you, the boys are in love with you" is so accurate

So if you’re open-minded, here’s something to consider:
Your perfect puppy might not be the gender you expected.

(Text copied from another Breeder and I totally agree!)

I would also add that, in my experience, the boys are far easier to house train and much quicker to become consistent with it. People worry about the males marking in the house, but if they are neutered at the appropriate time, I’ve never seen it be a problem.

And if you already know exactly what you want? That’s totally fine too. Just thought it was worth saying out loud since my soul mates have always been the boys💙 (Can't you just feel the love from Phoenix?? 🥰)

Good morning all!
I wanted to address the scammer activity that is happening in the breeding community. Several fellow breeders are having their photos stolen and scammers are attempting to "sell" the puppies to innocent clients.
Please be vigilant when choosing a breeder for your next family member. Ask for specific information about how they raise them, ask to see the puppies and the place they are raised, if they don't allow in-person visits (which is a red flag in itself) ask to FaceTime. Chances are, just those things will w**d out scammers.
To sum up...
If you can't talk to the person on the phone directly-it's not me.
If you can't visit in-person-it's not me.
If you can't FaceTime with them-it's not me.
If they require a deposit to be on the waitlist-it's not me.
If they have any breeds other than Cavaliers-It's not me.
We take great pride in how we raise these precious little ones and want only the best for our babies and their forever families.
May we all stay safe and well!
