Does your dog inhale their food in seconds? ⏱️

Slow feeder bowls are a great way to help!

These specially designed bowls encourage dogs to eat at a healthier pace by making them work around ridges and patterns to get their food.

Benefits of slow feeder bowls include:
✔️ Better digestion
✔️ Reduced risk of bloating
✔️ Mental enrichment during mealtime
✔️ Less regurgitation and upset stomachs

If your pup is a speed eater, a slow feeder bowl may make mealtime safer and more enjoyable!

🌸 Black Fly (Buffalo Gnat) Season is Here! 🐶

Every spring, we see quite a few dogs come in with scary-looking red spots or “bull’s-eye” rashes on their bellies. These spots are most commonly caused by black flies, also known as buffalo gnats, which are especially active during April and May in the Northeast.

What do these bites look like?
🔴 Small red spots or “bull’s-eye” lesions
🔴 Usually found on the belly or areas with less fur
🔴 May appear bright red or even look slightly bloody
🔴 Can be just a few spots or many at once

The good news? In most cases, these bites will resolve on their own within about a week and don’t require treatment.

Some dogs, however, may be more sensitive and may:
• Lick or scratch at the area
• Develop irritation or swelling
• Occasionally get secondary skin infections

📸 When in doubt, give us a call or send us a photo — we’re always happy to help!

Just one of the many wonderful perks of spring in the Northeast! 🌿🐾
