Looking back the “SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN” opening night
→ On view until 27 June

“Something To Believe In” opened its doors and FAILE was right there with us - in conversation, in the room, in the work. Watching visitors move through the signs, symbols, and stories that fill this exhibition made it clear: the search for meaning is anything but solitary.

Thank you to everyone who came and made the night so special.

If you haven’t visited yet, be sure to stop by the gallery over the coming weeks.

For their first exhibition at Underdogs Gallery – and first gallery exhibition in Portugal – FAILE presents a new body of work that reflects the artists’ ongoing interest in iconography, symbolism, sacred form, and the construction of meaning through the urban environment.

Rather than proposing fixed systems of belief, the exhibition inhabits the space where longing, projection, hope, and cultural noise intersect. Across painting, sculpture, textile, and wood, fragmented narratives, layered symbols, typography, and installations unfold into an immersive landscape shaped by image, ritual, memory, and contemporary visual culture.

“Something To Believe In” invites viewers not toward a single answer, but toward a more personal and open-ended process of interpretation and reflection.

In “Les Combattantes”, Corentin Spear explores solidarity and shared resistance through a monochromatic composition centred on two female figures. Balancing softness with emotional intensity, the work reflects the artist’s ongoing interest in vulnerability, human connection, and collective experience.

In “Ardina”, BIGOD draws on the historical figure of the street newspaper seller to reflect on image circulation, repetition, and collective memory. Built through layered stencil compositions, the work translates references from vernacular culture and urban visual language into a contemporary graphic form.
