Do you know Hachiko?

Hachiko’s real-life story touched hearts around the world and even inspired a famous movie. After his owner, a professor in Tokyo, passed away, Hachiko continued to wait at the train station every day, faithfully hoping for his return.

Sadly, he died from a mosquito-borne disease that’s preventable today.

Hachiko’s heart is now preserved at National Science Museum in Tokyo—a reminder of his love and the importance of protecting our pets.

Tips for a Successful Veterinary House Call Visit:
1. Prior to scheduling a veterinary house call, notify Dr. Richard about any pets with aggressive, fractious, or fearful behavior.
2. Prepare cats and dogs or confine them in a small room before the vet arrives to prevent them from hiding, getting anxious, and to save time searching.
3. Minimize distractions such as television, music, other pets, and children during the house call.
4. Make sure there’s good lighting to check your pet. For cats and small dogs, clear off countertops or tables, and for larger dogs, clear a spot on the floor. If it’s outdoors, have a covered area in case it rains.
5. Prepare the area where he will be working to prevent any accidents.
