🐾 Adoption Update 🐾
Ozzy came to us a from a North Island rescue at the end of June. They contacted us to see if we had space, as Ozzy was really struggling with how busy the foster home was & they had nowhere else for him to go. Ozzy had limited exposure to the big wide world & he found everything overwhelming.
We had a foster who was going to have a couple of quiet-ish weeks at work, so he put his hand up for short term foster, which would give Ozzy time to decompress before we transferred him to another foster when needed.
Ozzy was quite nervous of new people initially & timid with some dogs. His foster was able to create a safe space at work where he could meet staff at a pace Ozzy was comfy with, then work up to meeting people at cafes, have dog play dates & generally be a happy young boy ❤️
After fostering 14 dogs, varying from 1 day stay up to a few months, the foster quickly worked out that Ozzy was the one that wouldn’t get away! There were 2 of his foster dogs that he wished he had adopted & Ozzy wasn’t going to be the next one to get away – he finally found his side kick!!
Ozzys new dad will keep fostering for us, with Ozzy being a great foster brother to teach them the ropes.
We couldn’t do what we do without fosters who open up their homes & hearts to the dogs that come through, & we do love a “foster fail” 🥰
