When I started losing feeling and strength in my left arm and fingers just over a week ago, I didn’t expect to be where I am today. I’ve been receiving treatment for a herniated disc for a while. Over the past 10 days the pain intensified, the pins and needles didn’t go away, I was having spasms and losing feeling. After an MRI last Monday, I was booked in for surgery that took place yesterday.
The disc had deteriorated and, according to the surgeon, even in the week since the MRI, the back of the disc had collapsed. So here I am, with a new disc. It’s been a tough week, especially in the midst of the Dogs of the World campaign which I’ve been planning for so long!
The good news is it seems like a relatively straightforward recovery, I should be home tomorrow and fully recovered in a month or so!
So what does this mean for the campaign?
Well, hopefully very little in the grand scheme of things. It might mean I’m a little slower to respond to messages while I’m recovering. It might mean I don’t get as much social media content, behind the scenes footage and stories I was going to share scheduled. But I’m already planning new ways I can keep the next month (and beyond exciting for you all.
It means that now, more than ever, I need your support! Backing the project and spreading the word and telling people about it. Here is the campaign link, where you can order the book: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/furtography/dogs-of-the-world-photographic-book?ref=50ss77
I am once again thrilled to see that support from backers. We’re one pledge away from hitting 120%, thank you!
I’m going to blame whatever cocktail of medication I’m on, but I have been feeling quite emotional today about the success so far. Next stop, those gorgeous foil embossed dust jackets when the project hits its first stretch goal.
Thanks so much for reading.
A grateful (and sore) Craig!
