This very cute miniature schnauzer recently completed a Board & Train program with us to work on human & dog reactivity, leash manners and general obedience skills. He did very well with his training and is now able to walk calmly and confidently in a wide variety of environments without feeling the need to react.

🐾 Our Slatmill service is starting to get busy! We now have a second slatmill, perfect for people who have 2 dogs.

if your dog is reactive or unsure of other dogs we are still able to run them on the slatmill on their own without other dogs around 😊

We are hiring! 🐾

We are looking for a part-time dog trainer to help with running our puppy and obedience group classes. Please read below for more information about this role.

We are seeking a part-time dog trainer to help with running our weekend training classes. You must be available during weekends for this role. The opportunity for more hours during weekdays is available for the right person.

Full training will be provided to ensure that you have a solid understanding of dog training and dog behaviour. This is an entry-level dog training role focused on puppy behaviour, general dog training concepts and obedience skills. Prior experience with dog handling and training is preferable, but not a requirement. If you are confident with dogs, enjoy working with people and have a keen attitude to learn, we would love to hear from you.

- confident talking in front of groups of people
- confident handling and working with a range of sizes and breeds of dogs
- good communication and customer service skills
- confident and capable working independently
- good time management skills

A crucial component of this role is having the ability to communicate and connect with clients. Dog training is not just about training the dogs!

Our new crates have arrived! We absolutely love these crates. They are manufactured here in NZ and are great quality. We can highly recommend these crates. As a bonus they come in a variety of fun colours!

Why do we not allow public to walk through our facility?
Answer is very simple. Animal welfare. We have a number of dogs here that are anxious and fearful of people. Many of these dogs are with us for training to work on building confidence and trust with people.
We want our facility to feel comfortable and safe for all of our clients. Having strangers walking through our facility looking around causes unnecessary stress to our anxious and fearful dogs.

This is the reason why we only allow one customer at a time in our shop/reception areas and why our dogs that are in for training services or our socialisation programs come through a different reception area. We want to make everything as safe and stress free as possible.
We are also a training facility, and we occasionally have dogs on-site that have bite histories. It all comes down to health and safety as we dont want any person, or dog, to be put at unnecessary risk.

We are always happy to provide photos and videos of our facility set up.

This super cute golden retriever puppy recently had a training session with our trainer Alicya. Our private training is a great way to set your new pup up for success 🐾 for puppies we cover all the basics for toilet training, foundation obedience skills, dealing with biting/chewing/jumping, and all the tips for how to raise a well mannered dog ☺️
