Just a small note: Greg isn’t quite ready for rehoming just yet, as he’s working through an injury. But stay tuned, once he’s back to 100%, he’ll be looking for his forever home! Stay tuned🫶🏻

Hoot and Finn!

Hoot is a lovely lad who can be a little reserved at first, but once he gets to know you, he warms up quickly. He’s spent some time in foster and shown us what a sweet, dog-social companion he is. He’ll make someone a very loyal and loving friend.

Finn is our lovely older gentleman. He’s calm, gentle, and well-mannered. He is polite on lead and just as polite with people. A true sweetheart through and through.

Jazz🎶

Jazz is very much a puppy at heart, playful, curious, and loves a tummy rub. Currently, Jazz is thriving in foster care with a cat and showing she can be a well-mannered house guest.

This tiny tot is Jess! She recently celebrated her 2nd birthday and is on the hunt for her furever home. She is the cutest little button ever! She is doing amazing in foster♥️

🚨PSA🚨

This is a corn. Greyhounds can be prone to them along with other sighthounds and they are pesky, painful and persistent things. They are hardened lesions involving a build up of keratin.
Usually they are noted when a greyhound begins to struggle walking on hard surfaces.

There are some things you can do to help including soaking the corn, applying colloidal silver, using booties, keeping nails short, sticking to soft surfaces and if necessary considering a well proven surgery called a superficial flexor tenotomy or flexor tenotomy surgery. This was invented by a British vet called Dr Mike Guilliard. It doesn’t work for every dog but for many it’s life changing. Within Christchurch we have a number of vets experienced with this surgery including Lesley at Shirley vets and the vets at Selwyn Rakaia.

What you must not do EVER is allow your vet to surgically hull the corn. This is an old outdated method that will inevitably mean the corn returns. If your vet advises this please do not allow them to proceed. We have plenty of experience with dealing with corns within the community and are happy to advise and point you in the right direction

Winter warmers day 19!

Today is a little different, it’s not about introducing new faces, but celebrating some special goodbyes. 💛

First, we’re sending all our love to Quinn, a truly special girl who has officially started her new life in her forever home.

We also said goodbye to Max, who has headed off into foster care, where he’s living with a big fluffy cat and already settling in beautifully.

Prince has also moved into foster care today, and we’re looking forward to updates as he adjusts to the comforts of home.

Alanna has said her goodbyes too, and we’re so excited for her next chapter.

And lastly, Jazz has gone into foster! She has the cutest wiggly bum - look out for her adoptable post soon👀

Winter warmers day 16

Tigger!🐅

Meet Tigger!!! A lovely, big lad with an even bigger heart. One of the most naturally affectionate greyhounds you’ll ever meet, Tigger absolutely thrives on cuddles and companionship. Always chittering away and gently nudging your hand for just one more pat, he’s the kind of dog who makes you feel instantly loved.

Tigger recently spent a night at home with Erika and, true to form, he settled in within minutes, rolling around, roaching happily, and soaking up every bit of loooove. He slept on the sofa and had to be forced off in the morning to go to the bathroom😂

Tigger went into foster today! He is dog social, but no cats please!
