Hi everyone, I was found wandering on the road and brought safely to CareVets Napier. Thankfully, I’m okay—just a little shy and missing my family. 💔

I don’t have a microchip, so we’re hoping someone recognizes me and can help me find my way back home.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨

We’ve been made aware of a scam targeting local pet owners in the Napier area. Scammers are impersonating CareVets Napier and the SPCA, contacting people who have posted online about lost pets.

💬 They claim your pet has been found and urgently needs vet treatment.
💰 They then ask for immediate payment over the phone to cover the costs before your pet can be returned.

⚠️ This is a scam. We want to be very clear:
CareVets Napier will NEVER call to demand payment to reunite you with your pet.

If you receive a suspicious message or phone call:
✔️ Ask for proof (e.g. a recent photo of your pet).
✔️ Hang up and call us directly on our official number.
✔️ Never give out credit card details or make payments to unknown accounts.
✔️ Report scams to www.netsafe.org.nz.

A young female black cat with short hair was brought in this afternoon, sadly deceased. She was found on Tannery Road, Meeanee, Napier, and unfortunately, she didn't have a microchip.
